  1. ...and a game can only be played when someone else participates. I don't use the ignore function here, but I do avoid engaging those who seem to be simply baiting for a response. We empower these guys by getting sucked in to their BS.
  2. me too!!! I think there needs to be a board limit on ecstatic smilies and exclamation points!!!!!! :excited:
  3. Yeah Twinkies!
  4. Conn, I believe that the greatest of all time was Terry Bradshaw. I think that he was the most accurate passer of all time, often throwing between three defenders to get the ball to Lynn Swann. And in addition, what many people don't know is that he called his own plays. And, of course, he was a winner, winning four Super Bowls. The other to keep in mind is Otto Graham. He was a little before my time, but no one can top this: He played pro ten years, and played in the league championship game every year. Bob Griese? Bart Starr? Roger Staubach? Broadway Joe? We are lucky to see so many first rate QBs right now.
  5. That is OUTSTANDING news! Some new KD is a reason to celebrate!!
  6. That means we're stuck with you? Unless I don't get my Trane box set. If that happens I'm totally going postal.
  7. Jim's board, Jim's call. Other than Joe & Randy, the rest of us are guests. I'll abide by whatever Jim wants to do on his board. I always have the option to not hang out here. That seems fair to me.
  8. It's that time again! Happy Birthday Glenn!
  9. Prestige sideman sessions (Mal Waldron, Red Garland, Gene Ammons etc.). The other two related boxes are his leader and co-leader sessions. See post #51 for a link to the specific recordings included.
  10. Un-friend you on Facebook? :rsmile:
  11. Just got my shipping notice! It's on its way!
  12. Tonight's football game is pretty good, in case anyone is interested.
  13. Interesting game so far. Childress couldn't throw his challenge flag in time- too bad, I think he had a case on that deflection/catch.
  14. True dat. The Cowboys offense wore out the Cowboys defense. They simply ran out of gas, aloowing the Broncos two touchdowns on two straight possessions. Coincidentally I was flying from Denver to Dallas while this game was on. I watched most of the fourth quarter while waiting for my flight at DFW. Great game, great win for the Broncos. Romo is really have a tough year- a few great plays overshadowed by a few awful plays.
  15. Some good info here.....
  16. Packers vs. Vikings and Favre's in a purple uniform. Still haven't gotten used to it. He's playing his @$$ off, though! EDIT:....as is Rogers!
  17. Hmmmm......I ordered mine on the 30th right after I saw this thread and it still hasn't shipped.......
  18. This was making the email rounds today. Pretty funny..... Five octaves...
  19. I just ordered A Single Sky from the website- I chose the CD w/sheet music option because I might use it as a teaching/study resource. It also came with an immediate download, so I already have it on my iPod. Jim McNeeley fronts the Frankfurt Radio Band, and several of the tunes are arranged by him- I'm a big fan of McNeeley's ensemble writing- seeing his participation on the project was really what sold it for me. I like what I've heard so far!
  20. This thread has me sportin' some wood.
  21. As I've mentioned elsewhere, the beginning of the second chorus on Stella (where Trane's solo begins and the rhythm section goes into 4) is one of my favorite moments in recorded jazz. Always sends chills.
  22. Me too. Thanks TJazz!
  23. Almost missed it! Hope you had a great day, and a great year ahead (and many more)!
