  1. I'm certainly interested. Absolutely! I'm sure many here would be interested. And to answer your question- yes, everyone can see what you post. If you prefer, there is a personal message function to communicate privately with other board members. But I think many here (myself included) would be interested in what you have to say! Again, welcome!
  2. Well, I hope SOMEBODY does it!
  3. It sure seems to me like a little quality control would save them the expense of repeatedly having to make these corrections. Doesn't anyone there bother to check the final product before it goes out? Hell, send 'em to me, I'll do it for free. I want to see Blue Note succeed as much as anyone.
  4. Good haul, save!
  5. My guess would be the Hubbard material only. The rest of 'Jazz Wave' includes material by Thad & Mel, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy McGriff and Jeremy Steig - a bit of a hotch-potch. The original sound wasn't the greatest either but I'll check the LPs later today to re-aquaint with the Hubbard performance. I personally thought the Thad & Mel performance on this one was the best. What tunes comprised the Thad & Mel portion? "hotch-potch" = "hodge-podge" over here. Go figure!
  6. I recently watched Woodstock. An amazing time in our history that will never be repeated. Also recommended on DVD: Festival Express I've also been reading Tom Brokaw's book Boom!. Very interesting read.
  7. Thanks again everyone. Much appreciated.
  8. Just got back from seeing it. A little long, a little unintentionally funny in spots, but overall very entertaining and some great escapist entertainment (and great visually). I am glad I knew a little about the story going in. I haven't read the comic, if I had I'd probably have been more critical. At times it reminded me of Bladerunner. I also liked the music, some nice Philip Glass in there.
  9. It's 2/3 of the Hub of Hubbard rhythm section(Carter in for Richard Davis)- excellent! Sounds like a good one!
  10. Where are these trombone babes? They must be hiding from me. Interesting to look up who shares your birthday. Of course, I knew about Bix, but I didn't know that this was also Osama bin Laden's birthday...yikes. Also FWIW, Sharon Stone was born same day, same year. She looks a hell of a lot better than I do.
  11. Happy Birthday Al! Come visit us when you can!
  12. Thanks everyone! FSU is on spring break this week, so I am enjoying some time off. No big plans, just relaxing a bit. The weather is beautiful this week so I'm thinking about taking a drive down to the beach. Much appreciation as always to my many friends here. This place continues to be my favorite cyber-hang.
  13. Dynasty showed up in the mail today- really a nice side, but I'm going to have to get some kind of magnifying glass to read those liner notes.
  14. I'm definitely convienced. His highs are very high.
  15. I would be interested to hear Karl's comments on the "Where Fortune Smiles" session. There are many "urban legend" stories connected to that side.
  16. Showed up in the mail today. I'm surprised I didn't have this Dexter.
  17. Welcome Karl! Great to see you here!
  18. guys Many musical treats coming your way.
  19. Thanks for the info, GoM! (Wow, one of my first threads- that sure seems like a lifetime ago....)
  20. Strong recommendation for this one, don't miss it if you can afford to drop the coin. Some really great music IMO.
