  6. Wait, it's Hermeto! Hermeto invented jazz!
  7. Looks like my current dating status.
  8. I know that director from Hemet HS, I was in school w/him. Kind of an evil vibe to that drawing.
  9. Ah, now I see why he was on the gig.
  10. What's so bad about that Grant Green cover? This thread has the potential to get kind of mean-spirited IMHO.
  11. One of my favorite all-time covers. I have a reproduction on my wall.
  12. I know we've discussed this elsewhere, but the easiest way I've found to remove these is to unhinge the bottom of the jewel case and peel them off that way- they come off much easier. Also, I use Goo-Gone to remove any adhesive residue (not sure if that is available over there).
  13. You a NIU alum? I used to teach there.
  14. ***WARNING: PREMISE OVERLOAD***
  15. "...available for bah mitzvahs."
  16. I don't know if we've covered this already, but I was just thinking about a couple that stand out in my mind. One was a concert by Bill Chase's last group. Deafening. But the loudest.....and this was not "fun loud", this was PAINFUL, stick-your-fingers-in-your-ears loud....was Weather Report in the late 70s, the Jaco/Erskine edition. It was a great concert, but there was no reason for it to be so friggin' loud. It definitely "harshed my high" (it WAS the 70s, you know....I think that was a "brownie" event, IIRC). A good loud concert was the Chicago Symphony in the mid 70s performing Holst's Planets. That was an awesome brass section. Now will someone answer that damn phone already?
  17. The Horns are puttin' a hurtin' on Mizzou. Texas is looking real good right now, but they have a tough schedule ahead. I'm hoping there isn't the usual Texas meltdown that seems to happen whenever they have an opportunity to have a great season.
  18. Mine'll be here on Monday along with the Toshiko Select.
  19. Happy Birthday....Mr. Alberston!
