  1. I like that improved design of the Mosaic site
  2. Kenny Clarke/Francy Boland 'Jazz Is Universal' (Atlantic, stereo)
  3. In this particular case, Lonehill is doing what Concord fails to do. And that is within the legal limits of the EU regulations. I won't purchase that Lonehill because I already have all the material but if I did not, I would have no problem getting the Lonehill.
  4. Ahhh, we'll see - nothing would surprise me and you may be right. I hope not, but I was saying a year ago that the all Blacks were playing far too well that far before the World Cup it self. Man, this weekend is going to be great. I'm going to watch every game: AUS - ENG NZL - FRA RSA - FJI ARG - SCO My tips in bold. Actually, the NZ-France game is probably the hardest to tip, followed by Argentina-Scotland. Planning to watch all four games too. As for the NZL-FRA, from what I have seen of the All Blacks and France so far, I would not bet two centimes on a French 15 victory! Those All Blacks look unbeatable!
  5. Johnny Griffin 'The Little Giant' (Riverside, Carrere reissue)
  6. I'd be all over that, but it's probably in French Not sure I'ld buy a Camus set in english but sure would like to give it a listen
  7. Booker Ervin 'The Space Book' (Prestige, mono, blue label)
  8. Frank Butler 'Wheelin' and Dealin' (Xanadu) with Teddy Edwards and Joe Farrell, Dolo Coker and Monty Budwig
  9. Watched France defeat Georgia 64-7 yesterday. Good team game but now France will face New Zealand's All Blacks in Cardiff in a quarterfinals match that should end their career in the tournament! The All Blacks have been the most consistent team in the World Cup so far.
  10. great! mind you, is there anything you don't have? I guess if you'll let me enter your music room once, you will never get me out of it again, forever With the vinyls and CDs stacked ceiling high, there is no space for more than one people in that room
  11. I'll xerox the discography for you!
  12. Billy Bang Quintet 'Rainbow Gladiator' 'Soul Note) with Charles Tyler, Michele Rosewoman, Wilber Morris and Dennis Charles
  13. Amazon.fr also has this with an October 29 release date. Price for the 6CD set is announced at €62,19 On the Corner
  14. Phineas Newborn 'Piano Portraits (Roulette, stereo) with John Simmons and Roy Haynes
  15. ... and very glad about it! The Frémeaux people are doing a great job with their releases. Their 2005 catalogue (98 pages, all small type) is a visual and mingboggling delight. It includes a 12-CD box of philosopher Michel Onfray discussing a counter-history of philosophy, a 3CD set of Albert Camus reading 'The Stranger', plus various sets on Henri Bergson, Claude Levi-Strauss, also sets on André Malraux, Charles de Gaulle, etc... Their jazz section is pretty impressive too. Besides all the great ones, it lists CDs by Mal Waldron, Archie Shepp, Anthony Ortega and others.
  16. The Fiji-Wales match yesterday was the most thrilling game of this World Cup so far, at least from those I have been able to watch. The Welsh tried to come back after a bad start but the Fijians overpowered them in the end to win 38-34. Good to see the Fijians qualify for the quarterfinals.
  17. The Jarman/Crispell CD 'Connecting Spirits' on Music&Arts is highly recommended!
  18. I would go for the André Hodeir albums too! And would also recommend the double CD Jean-Claude Fohrenbach 'Fohrenbach French Sound' that came out on the JinP HorsSérie series! Interesting sessions from an unacknowledged musician!
  19. Andrew Hill Select, disc 3
  20. The liner notes to Bopland has this personnel for 'Perdido': Wild Bill Moore, Gene Montgomery, tenor, Russ Freeman, piano, probably Shifty Henry, bass, probably Leroy Gray, drums.
  21. Al Haig/Jimmy Raney 'Strings Attached' (Choice)
  22. How is it Brownie? I keep passing on that one. Big mistake you made! This is a splendid album with Jaspar and Thomas at the top of their craft. The Mole CD from this had three additional tracks but left a delightful version of 'It Could Happen to You' that was on the vinyl
  23. Mike, this is the tracklist for the Adderley Dreyfus: 1. Cannonball 2. Everglade 3. Bohemia After Dark 4. Fallen Feathers 5. Carribean Cutie 6. Willow Weep For Me 7. You'D Be So Nice To Come Home To 8. A Little Taste 9. I've Never Been In Love Before 10. Falling In Love With Love 11. New Arrival 12. I Should Care 13. Crazy Baby 14. Polka Dots And Moonbeams 15. The Song Is You
  24. The Stan Kenton Presents box, the Bill Holman sides
