Saw that box a few months ago in a store here. The box could not be opened so I tried to get details. By the time I got them, the box was gone.

Sonny Stitt revelled in tenor confrontations. A favorite opponent was Gene Ammons. These duels have been pretty well documented. A favorite is the Verve album 'Boss Tenors in Orbit'.
Other Stitt albums to look for are the Cobblestone/Muse sessions, 'Tune Up' and Constellation' in particular.
One to get - if you have not done so already - is the Philippe Sarde 'Princesses/Un Frere' CD from the same series.
It is not part of the discounted discs. The music is played by John Lewis, Milt Jackson, Ron Carter and Wayne Shorter among others!
