COVID-19 2.0: No Politics edition
Dan Gould replied to ghost of miles's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Smart Thermometer Data, aggregated: Doesn't establish that Covid 19 is any particular place, but they are comparing prior patterns of thermometer data to what is seen now, perhaps as an 'early warning' system. https://healthweather.us/ more here: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/18/health/coronavirus-fever-thermometers.html -

There is a fresh sounds issue of his trio dates it's very good. One of those I went for due to relative scarcity of the originals and no domestic CD issue.

Of course!

You forgot net neutrality. That should have already killed you by now. I'm somehow sorry it hasn't. But let's consider everything you've said: Guns readily available: DAMN but that second amendment is a bitch. Go cry about it. Denying climate change: How this will hasten your death is completely beyond me. 1 degree increase, 2 degree increase. You ain't dying because of it. I don't care what AOC or Greta say. Now denying the existence/seriousness of Covid 19: The mayor of NYC just went to his YMCA and took forever to close schools etc etc. Denying the existence or just a self-centered moron? Depriving me of my healthcare: What healthcare? How? Obama has done more to deprive people of healthcare with his lies about "like your plan, keep your plan." Millions of people forced onto the exchanges where they ended up with higher costs and higher deductibles than what they had and liked. Those higher deductibles directly deprived people of healthcare they would have had on their old, terrible plans.

Excellent! From one old hand to a newbie I hope that when yours comes it is well-received and that you make a habit of it.

What an utterly charming person you are. Wishing death upon fellow countrymen. Nice.

The corrections are right here. I don't think anyone is going to be misinformed by my post.

Don't worry Jim, if triageing comes, you've got better chances at 64 then my Mom at 85. It's the generation before you that's going to be left out to die. Mostly. (I just read that 60 is the spot where death rates really increase, though I also heard that 50 is the start of increasing death rates.)

This hoarding thing is beyond stupid. It's not like a hurricane where stores can't open or you can't find gasoline to fill your tank. I was thinking about a small Sam's run this weekend and was looking at the freezer and figuring we were OK until next weekend, will just need to get more then. Since supply chains aren't severed I am sure people can find what they need ... eventually? And I just found out from my wife that when she ran out last night it was for horse feed, and naturally there were hardly any bags left at the one retailer that was open after 8 pm.

No such luck for me but we got a survey from corporate about what insurance license is held and what your PC and internet capabilities are, so they may make that decision fairly soon. Has anyone seen the video of the asshat nba player touching everything in sight and now he has tested positive? What a dick.

Just saw a graphic showing that the UK and US are about 13 days behind Italy on the rate of infection, France and Germany a little closer to Italian rate today. What hasn't been mentioned is how deaths from other causes will jump because there aren't any ICU beds available when the shit really hits the fan.

I don't know about that ... such a big difference in the balance of flavors.

Surprised nobody has posted about this You've purchased music from CD Baby, so we wanted to let you know: we've decided to retire our CD Baby music store on March 31st, 2020 in order to fully focus on our distribution, monetization, and promotion services. As explained in our message to our artists, the store is no longer a money-maker for most of our artists, as a growing number of listeners now get their music through streaming platforms, and those who prefer CD & vinyl are shopping on Amazon. However, we ARE continuing physical distribution through our wholesale partners, including Amazon. The CD Baby artists you love will still have their CDs and vinyl for sale on online retailers and through record stores. And of course we're also continuing distribution to digital platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. What you need to know: We are retiring wishlists along with the store, so please copy and paste those into another document. Your Order and Download History will remain in your account. You can still log into your customer account and view your past purchases and redownload digital orders. The Find and Order/Download function will also still work as it does currently. Download cards will still work. Though the function will continue after the main store is retired, we recommend you redeem any codes you have now. The Manage Credit Card and Manage Addresses sections will be removed to ensure the security of your information. Lastly, we're offering our famous one-cent shipping deal on three or more CDs through March 31st. So if you've been eyeing a few albums on your wishlist, now's the time to buy 'em! If you have any questions about our store retirement or your customer account, please check out our Help Center. Thank you again for your business over the years, and for supporting the music of independent artists. - CD Baby So I am thinking about one last order to take advantage of the penny shipping. Any recommendations? Here's a good one, led by George Bohannon with Sweets, Ray Brown and Wig: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/georgebohanon3 Osian Roberts/Steve Fishwick Quintet hit a nice hardbop groove, derivative but rather nice: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/sfq4 This one is fine too, and with Shelley Carrol: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/sebastianwhittaker I'm sure there are more I bought but those are two I'd recommend if you like physical product. What about you?

Wynton Kelly on a record is one of many good house keeping seals of approval as far as I am concerned.

That Betty James track is awesome. I've always wondered about her, a grand total of six singles (I think)? On the basis of her first two she should have been such a star.

Late to this but glad to hear it went well. Brad. -
My first car was a 1976 Mustang II. Standard back then was an 8-track player, so to bring the sound system in 1987 to the then modern standard of cassettes, I had to buy an 8-track to cassette converter from Radio Shack. They've been doing this converter thing for a long time ...

Books on Cassette - Percy France
Dan Gould replied to Dan Gould's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Just listened to 15 minutes of the first narration on the youtube channel ... no chapter delineations. Some pregnant pauses and spots where I would guess a chapter ended but no statement. Then again first line is from the book, doesn't say 'chapter 1'. So maybe Percy was edited out on the abridged version? -

Good catch there, and 1990 too. Unfortunately the youtube account has a longer version up, no music. I tried to skip around the youtube vid and only found more at the end of the book but I guess I should listen thru until i get the end of a chapter to be sure there's only tenor at start and end or what. If this really is Percy would love to somehow find out how he got the gig. I'd guess a jazz fan at Simon and Schuster.
