  1. Perhaps but its not Floyd.
  2. No Freddie Green.
  3. Yeah I think its early March was the date and the Japanese issue is late April which means jazzmessengers should have it sooner, too.
  4. Perhaps their experience in Canada makes it, of necessity, a way to mock a failure. In my experience (and yes I know people who say the alternate pronunciation) its just another way of saying the word, like artiste/artist.
  5. I am fairly sure this is similar to the American pronunciation of the discount retailer Target as Tar-ZHEY. French pronunciation always implies higher class.
  6. Guitarist on track 2 is considered a major part of the appeal of the album (Chuck Nessa told me so). YMMV - obviously I should have selected a tune that he is featured on, which I nearly did. Track 5 is a major artist. Again, mileage, and of course he could have had a bad day what do I know? Track 13 is certainly the least known guitarist so feel free to diss him. I only included the track for the tenor.
  7. Not Coryell but welcome Jim, I did have you in mind on the tunes featuring guitar.
  8. You knocked off some low-swinging and higher-swinging fruit. What's not to like?
  9. Yes but from which recording/who is that other saxophonist?
  10. Thanks Randy but none of your guesses are accurate. You may have checked the thread and found that #3 and #11 have been identified (nice job, HP) (and not sure why you thought Messengers or Jazztet with no sax in sight, just trumpet and 'bone). Also while Gene is in there (how could he not be) you did not find his slot yet.
  11. Nice start on your first BFT, Mary! I'm glad you've enjoyed the music.
  12. to the man who keeps the BFTs Streaming.
  13. I like the guy who runs that site but their listing isn't very exhaustive if 55 CDs includes Japanese versions of all of the Dutch series.
  14. For what its worth Jazzmessengers seems to carry the Dutch series so I assume they'd have it eventually too. http://www.jazzmessengers.com/en/98989898/complete-catalog-of-the-label-dutch-jazz-archives
  15. I figured but I was at their site and didn't see it.
  16. Yeah, actually you know, HMV, they're shady. Let me give it a shot, I'll let you know if they come thru.
  17. Yeah, wait til I've gotten my order in, 'k?
  18. Well his known visit to Europe was what, '68 - '69? Whenever Reach Out was recorded. The known recordings of Hank in Europe is spring of 1968 if memory serves.
  19. Wow! I wonder if I should go straight to the Japan market to pre-order or try Amazon. Hank in what promises to be good sound is pretty big news.
  20. and spending ducats. He never came here because he hated the B3.
  21. I was thinking Tony Perez v. Bill Lee but, yeah.
  22. Up, as the link is now added to the first post. Play ball! "Pitcher winds and delivers ... starts him off with an Eephus?!"
  23. Maybe a Mod can create a new Answers thread to adhere to the usual format? Or update the thread title to sign up - discussion - answers?
  24. I was going to but I got banned first.
