  1. For my south Florida friends: http://southfloridajazz.org/ Pretty strong lineup this season with Marcus Roberts Trio, Joey Defrancesco, Eric Alexander with Mabes and Jeremy Pelt, and Steve Turre leading a trombone front line tribute to Art Blakey, joined by Frank Lacy and Robin Eubanks being the likely concerts I'll plan to attend.
  2. I found a track listing for this on amazon.uk: Track Listings Disc: 11. Mo Joe2. African Queen3. Cape Verdean Blues4. NutvilleDisc: 21. Que Pasa2. The Kicker3. Song For My Father Track listing from Re-entry is: 1. Song for My Father2. The African Queen3. The Natives Are Restless Tonight4. Que Pasa5. The African Queen So this doesn't appear to be complete, unless it's a completely different Half Note broadcast. The Natives Are Restless Tonight is dropped, but Mo Joe, Cape Verdean Blues, Nutville and The Kicker all appear to be 'new'.
  3. New Giacomo Gates is very nice to see, thanks for the heads up. My wife and I have seen him twice in south Florida, he's a fantastic singer and entertaining as hell, to boot. Will definitely look for this.
  4. Two CDs per the website "Forced Exposure" so maybe a good portion is unreleased. Pretty cool but I know nothing of this label or their rights to issue the music. I see they also have the Lee Morgan Live recording that Fresh Sound put out and was different from the Blue Note Lighthouse set. Sounds like they think they can issue anything that was given an FM broadcast. Gotta say I am very curious about Muddy Waters sharing the stage with BB in 1973. I may just have to hold my nose and order that.
  5. Paul really sums it up for me. RIP and condolences to his friends and family.
  6. Yeah, mine had a USPO tracking number after they said it wouldn't have any tracking - but I didn't look at where it actually shipped from. Looking forward to your comments when you get a chance to listen, jlhoots.
  7. Well credit where it is due as the package arrived at 9:30 this morning. But at the same time I find it remarkable that it was never scanned when it departed Chicago, and never scanned at it's local hub (West Palm Beach or Miami), for entry or deprature, it just showed up at my local PO at 3:30 this morning. So clearly there scanning/tracking isn't fool proof. BTW, now I have a uniform for record hunting in the future: Blue Train in front sealed the deal.
  8. I hope you're right because now it's coming up on 24 hours and it hasn't budged.
  9. To the well once more, with an order placed yesterday at Da Bastards. It was accepted by USPS very quickly this time, scanned twice so far. And maybe it will get here tomorrow, as scheduled. But as you can see by the attachment, the damn thing has sat in IL for 16 hours at this point. How can they accomplish two day delivery when almost half that time the thing never moves?
  10. From the above, BB and Little Milton. Would love to hear that show!
  11. Blues Music magazine 72 page tribute to B.B.: http://www.pageturnpro.com/MojoWax-Media-Inc/52389-BB-King/index.html?inf_contact_key=680d2b0e5721ccca5d90f1f7898cd1302458fc7a6beb05d853cb6a2d13d03993#1
  12. Ruby is listed as a Ray Charles composition.
  13. Mine arrived in seven days, and I am on the east coast so a little closer, theoretically. Edit to add: Also, the Chicago area USPS was not involved in any way with the delivery, to my knowledge.
  14. Well as long as you're doing it for yourself, too. I'll be interested to hear your reaction.
  15. Hysterical blast from the past, as wasn't it only 8 weeks ago that Aaron Hernandez was found guilty, beyond and to the exclusion of all reasonable doubt, by a jury of his peers?
  16. Up, because I can't be the only person who has received this to date. Can I?
  17. It's not curious at all, for a few reasons: I haven't gotten nasty with anyone but you, the resident ass-hat, in quite a while. And, I haven't said a fucking thing at you except after you say some stupid shit at me, like "you know it's fake, right?" You might want to consider the likelihood that Mark has realized, thru simple observation of your posts, that you are in fact the biggest douchebag on the board. I've lost track of how many people have told me the same in PMs.
  18. "Pissy little potshots on the forum" Do you have any sense of self-awareness Dolan? Painfully obvious that you don't so let me tell you to fuck off before I put you back on ignore.
  19. Great on the mic, terrible in the ring. That elbow thing he did, god it was awful. But the fans ate it up. I bet the Nature Boy is heartbroken.
