  2. I stumbled across an LD Muse album, Back Street and the liners consisted of an interesting and fairly wide ranging interview. I knew LD doesn't care for "Fusion or Con-Fusion musicians" but he doesn't much care for guys like Braxton either. So, I scanned in the interview and uploaded it to picture village, for your enjoyment.
  3. Dave, don't be so quick to dismiss Damon and the Yanks. I read on that rumour page that if Damon's price goes to 4 years/44 million, they'd be interested.
  4. Well, its a shocking deal, certainly, because Cameron was considered to be worth a heckuva lot more than what San Diego is apparently giving. Wasn't he supposed to end up as part of a package for Manny? I have to guess that Cameron's stock has gone way down since that collission. I'm also not at all certain he's quite the superstar Johnny makes him out to be. Yes, he's won a couple of gold gloves. But its a stretch to say that he's an automatic 25-30 homer guy. In the seven seasons he's played at least 140 games, he's hit 25 homers twice, 30 once. The other years were 8, 18, 19 and 21. He's also a .249 lifetime BA and he strikes out a ton. Frankly, I'll be glad if this trade goes through cuz that means he won't end up in Fenway, where he couldn't carry Manny's son's jock.
  5. I went with Male Barber, though in reality the shop (he owns it) is Coral Springs Styling. I'll have to ask him next time if he's a barber or a stylist. The price went to $18 so maybe he'd have to be considered a stylist.

  7. All the reports out of New Yawk say the Yanks are far more interested in other options, even the combustible Milton Bradley, than they are in satisfying Damon's demands. They're also afraid that by the end of the contract, Damon's skills will have eroded to Bernie Williams' recent play, and they don't want a repeat of that. ******************** BTW, I'm pretty sure I started a hot stove thread after the season ended, but this one will do nicely.

  9. What Mark said, especially since your edit doesn't exactly make sense. You need a do-over.
  10. You need to delete this immediately. Jim has made it clear that soliciting burns, or offering to buy burns is strictly prohibited. And in one fell swoop, you've obliterated whatever previous mark stood for most burns requested in a single post. Edit your post and stick to requesting used CDs, not copies of them.
  11. I think Chuck's hit the nail on the head.

  13. I really haven't seen her act so I can't say if she's funny or not (haven't seen the movie either) but I do remember her from There's Something About Mary, and I fall on the side of this divide.
  14. Dave, didn't you yourself say that Big Papi is the very definition of MVP? The fact is, when I take off my Red Sox fan hat, I understand why A-Rod gets it as being more valuable as an all-around player. As Buck Showalter says, the game is all about run production and run reduction. Big Papi was a tremendous run producer, but when you factor in A-Rod's defense, its probably the right decision. Still he'll always be remembered for this:
  15. Too bad. $3.00 more than I'd pay for it.
  16. Haven't really thought that much about the Nelson set yet, so no comment there, but regarding your second question, it has occured to me that this may be a response to expressions of interest from people who aren't typically on jazz discussion boards ... you know, an older demographic, the same one that got the Four Freshman box produced.
  17. Since Rooster is be-boppin' along, "upping" threads all over the place, here's one more. Yeah yeah, call me an a**hole if you want, I don't care. As couw said on the other thread: Make a promise - Keep a promise
  18. I dug the Hazeltine Trio Senor Blues.
  19. So, was this stuff from Always Something There and The Look of Love? Or is it possible there's BN Stanley I don't have? Enquiring minds need to know! ← Dan, there is BN Stanley that you don't have. Here's the deal. As I said, there is material on this twofer that hasn't been reissued since (and not before, so it's never been released anywhere else than on this twofer, afaik). Here's the breakdown: 1963-10-21 - cherry point, one o'clock jump (from “A Chip Off The Old Block”) 1964-01-24 - trouble #2 (from “Hustlin”) 1967-02-17 - she's a carioca (ela e carioca),samba do aviao (song of the jet),night song (theme from Golden Boy) - all previously unissued. 1967-06-23 - bonita, better luck next time, flying jumbo - all previously unissued. 1968-04-15 - smile (from “The Look Of Love”) 1968-10-01 - little green apples (from “Always Something There”) 1968-10-28 - those were the days, song for bonnie (from “Always Something There”) ← Thanks, Jim! Email incoming!
  20. Thanks Chuck, and I appreciate it that you didn't encourage me to get a discography already.
  21. No connection problems here - chalk one up for DSL, I guess. If you know of an album title by the artist you're searching for, you can find his entry that way and then use the name link on the bio page.

  23. I wouldn't look for a second renewal. Ray, is the 100 episode mark still that critical? Now that there are "new" syndication offerings I've noticed some crappy sitcoms suddenly entering syndication ("Grounded for Life" fer instance) and I'm thinking to myself, this show has been on the air for 4 + seasons??? No way! So I can only presume that some shows go into syndication prior to that magic number. Or else my boycot of 99.9% of all network offerings has worked and I really don't know anything that's on anymore, and crap like "Grounded" really has reached 100 episodes.
