  1. Thanks, Lon. Myself, I was really wondering about it because the commercial I saw made it look like some dumb special effects epic. My wife and I loved the books and enjoyed the BBC show, but I wasn't sure about the movie. Now I've seen one positive review (in the Times) and one negative review (Ebert, who went into it knowing nothing about the books and thought that it was too much of an inside joke that no one who hadn't read the books would understand). I think its on the "want to see" list now.

  6. I definitely think Schilling is running his mouth, but on the other hand, if anyone on the Rays actually said "this is why we lose 100 games a year" there ain't no way in hell they would have copped to it at the team meeting when Piniella asked.

  10. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that when I looked over the Trip vinyl, there were some cuts that were short, like on the Drive Archive reissue, but it seems to me that there were others that were more "album" length. I might be wrong, but I'm beginning to think I may try to make a run to the record store I saw it at, if for no other reason than to check tunes and if I am remembering track length correctly. Unfortunately, its not right around the corner so getting there isn't that easy.

  18. Thanks, Mike. Man, they wanted $20 or $25 for the album and that's even harder to justify when its only for 6 tunes.

  21. BTW, I agree with Jim. Not essential but Stanley always sounds good to my ears, even if the accompaniment/material ain't the greatest.
  22. OK, now I'm a bit more confused than normal. Is it my imagination or was there also a Trip album with similar material to the Drive Archive CD? Royal blue cover, no picture though. I know I saw a Trip double LP at a local shop a while back, but the price was definitely wrong, and when I found the Archive CD, I figured this was the same thing. Going back, I'm pretty sure that there's more on the Trip double LP thing than is on the Drive Archive CD, but I still wasn't ready to pay, especially since I now have a number of those cuts on CD. But where this all fits in with a Canyon label LP is totally beyond me.
