  1. By the way, Chuck, I see that Amazon is sold out of your Warne Marsh. That must be good news, indicating that people are buying it. Congrats! http://www.amazon.com/All-Music-Warne-Marsh/dp/B00094CW7G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1HSTYF7Y93WQ7&colid=RVSBV717YT9
  2. I don't get it. Do you abstain from buying Dickens because his heirs don't get paid either? Both Dickens and Gryce are dead. How cold does the body have to be?
  3. Artie Shaw?
  4. Thanks Kevin. I'll take a closer look at that list.
  5. Per your recommendations, I have downloaded burrrn, RealPlayer and EAC. EAC involved automatically resetting the drivers (?) on my computer, but it all looks good.
  6. Dave Naylor Week 16 wrapup http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=378369 ***** Greg Xenakes Week 17 picks http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4444380
  7. ImgBurn seems to be a DVD burning program. Is that the same thing as a CD burning program? I don't see anything at their site for CDs.
  8. Correct, Jim! That's a glamour shot of someone I never saw in a glamour role.
  9. I'm still enjoying this one. I've found it at CDBaby but not at Amazon. I wonder what it is about some of these independent releases like the Art Pepper Blues for the Fisherman box that CDBaby gets it right away but Amazon doesn't. PS - OK, now I see that like the Fisherman box, Amazon has the mp3 on a timely basis, but not the CD.
  10. Tommy Grant has died. I had his bubble gum card in 1964. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=378383
  11. Happy Birthday 2011 Chris!
  12. Thanks ghost! I had forgotten about Something Cool. I've got it playing now.
  13. I can think of Gene Conley, Dave DeBusscher (sp?) and Bill Sharman. Who else played pro basketball and major league baseball?
  14. This week's TSN power rankings are out. The Argos are out of last place! [1] B.C.: Eight straight wins keeps the Lions on top[2] Montreal: Win over rival Ticats means first in the East[3] Edmonton: Climbing the charts after another impressive win[4] Winnipeg: Loss to Eskimos causes drop of one spot[5] Calgary: Second straight defeat means another fall in the rankings[6] Hamilton: Still having trouble getting over hump called Alouettes[7] Toronto: Rare victory means rare move up rankings[8] Saskatchewan: Four straight losses drops Riders to the basement http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=378301 ***** The Riders are concerned that a comment made by Eric Tillman on the radio amounts to tampering regarding Andy Fantuz. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=378325 ***** John Hufnagel is benching Henry Burris, and will start Drew Tate this week. Remember, Burris was the Most Outstanding Player last year. http://www.theglobea...article2204048/ ***** With their loss to BC yesterday, the Riders were eliminated from the playoffs. Ergo, the Ticats have clinched the last playoff spot. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=378344
  15. Correct, Paul! It's Clint Walker. I've been thinking about picking up the DVD box of the first season of Cheyenne. Wikipedia says that he is still alive and active. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Walker
  16. RIP. I learned just a couple of weeks ago that Pete Rugolo did the music for the Richard Diamond TV show. I thought about picking it up then, so maybe I'll get it the next time I get an Amazon download.
  17. Nope, but that's a really close guess, Dave. Think '50s Warner Bros. TV westerns.
  18. You'll need a hint for this.
  19. Happy Birthday 2011 Leeway!
  20. Montreal Alouettes 27....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 25 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4443623 This was a rather dull game that became very exciting at the end. The Ticats failed on a two-point convert with 56 seconds left that would have tied the game. With the win, the Als clinched at least second in the East. ***** British Columbia Lions 29....Saskatchewan Roughriders 18 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4443660 The Riders looked great for three quarters, but the Lions scored the game's last 17 points in the fourth. ***** This year's Hall of Fame inductees were announced today: Damon Allen (who came to my 1995 Grey Cup party) Milt Stegall Tyrone Jones Jack Abendschan (whose bubble gum card I had in 1964) Eric LaPointe David Braley Peter Connellan http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4443597 Abendschan was (in '75) the league's last position player to also placekick.
  21. When I was a boy I thought that I was a baseball fan. When NBC got the contract and used their people, I realized that I was a Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese fan.
  22. Correct, Paul! It's Gena Rowlands!
  23. Nope and nope! I think that Dorothy Provine is a particularly good guess, Dave. I should have thought of her before. Hint: Born in 1930. IMO, her name is more famous than her face. That is to say, her work is widely respected, but not many people have seen it!
  24. The Miles Bootleg Live in Europe 1967 box is now going for $24.18. http://www.amazon.com/LIVE-Europe-1967-Bootleg-Vol/dp/B005ARYEY6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2BKVPAP9AK6S2&colid=RVSBV717YT9
