  1. Well, it's news to me that Poison Ivy was about the clap. I'll have to listen to it again.
  2. Correct, Jim and Valerie! I thought that Chuck would beat you to it, but I didn't expect most to have any idea. I've never heard of any conspiracy theory regarding Adlai, but the guy I think was murdered was William Colby. As I recall, he was writing a book about his years at the CIA when he was discovered drowned.
  3. This will be impossible for most.
  4. I don't believe anyone has guessed who this is yet.
  5. Happy Birthday 2011 ham!
  6. Happy Birthday 2011 Tom!
  7. Correct, brownie! I was reminded of him recently when I saw the episode of Johnny Staccato he was in.
  8. OK, try this.
  9. Dave Garroway. my Mom used to love him. Correct, Valerie! My mom liked him too.
  10. Is one of them David Cameron? Maybe the one at the far right on the top step.
  11. While we're waiting for Jim to give a hint, here's one that his picture reminded me of.
  12. Oliver Reed was in one of my most favorite movies with Michael Crawford called The Jokers from 1967. To my knowledge it's never been released as a DVD, and I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
  13. Gloria Vanderbilt?
  14. Jim, how old is that photo?
  15. Correct, brownie, it's Myrna Loy! I thought that that three/quarter shot might make her a little more difficult to recognize.
  16. I've just now learned that Marshall Grant died August 7. He was the bass player of Johnny Cash's Tennessee Two, along with Luther Perkins on guitar. I got the Complete Johnny Cash Sun box for Christmas, so I'll have to pull it out and give it another listen. http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-marshall-grant-20110809,0,5862662.story
  17. LOL I thought maybe we could get Chris to answer that one! Correct, Valerie! Here's one.
  18. Were they the group with two female singers trying to be a little jazzier than Brasil '66 on Limelight? If so, I made a tape of one track of theirs, The Sound of Silence, but I guess I was bored by the rest of the album. If not, I'll delete this post, lest some get confused. PS - As I recall, the two women singers of the group I am thinking of were twins.
  19. Here's an old photo.
  20. Correct, FFA! It's Etta Jones!
  21. the link with the person's name is still showing!! i met this lady with Milt Jackson years ago! Hint: I have an album she made with Milt Jackson about ten years ago. Last hint: Her 1960 Prestige album sold over a million copies.
  22. I've had the chance to listen to this, and it's definitely a notch above most of the promo records I receive. The songs have a lot of energy without becoming fatiguing. The album gets better as it goes along, unlike most new albums I hear, which have the best songs frontloaded. Brother Roland makes an appearance (twice) on trombone. One of my year's top ten so far.
  23. British Columbia Lions 36....Edmonton Eskimos 1 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4429750 The Eskimos were without the services of their top four receivers and their starting left tackle. With so many guys new to the team, they didn't have their timing down, and were unable to muster any offense. Ray and Joseph threw four INTs.
  24. Is it a very young Maurice Chevalier? Wikipedia says that the guy I have in mind is named Will Sampson.
