I believe I read here quite some time ago that Mosaic erred and left one track off its Paul Desmond box; and that this track was included in his RCA box. Does anyone know the title of that track?

Here's a good article in which Ian Busby examines the momentum of each of the six playoff teams. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/CFL/200...281531-sun.html

Winnipeg Blue Bombers 44....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 30 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...aspx?id=4188528 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...ory/GlobeSports Eastern Final Standings: Montreal Winnipeg Toronto Hamilton ***** Calgary Stampeders 41....British Columbia Lions 30 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...aspx?id=4188596 http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home This one had me scratching my head. The Stamps had nothing to play for. If the Lions won, they would host the Western Semi-Final. The Stamps played all of their subs in the second half, yet they dominated the Lions with their subs (including their second and third string QBs). Western Final Standings: Calgary Saskatchewan British Columbia Edmonton ***** Both the Semi-Finals and the Finals will be played on Saturdays at the request of TSN, the television network. This Saturday, Winnipeg will host Edmonton, and Saskatchewan will host BC.

Edmonton Eskimos 37....Montreal Alouettes 14 http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home The Als' second consecutive meaningless game, and their second straight loss. The Als sat six starters, yet it was an entertaining game with exciting plays. For the Esks, Ricky Ray played the first half and completed his first 16 passes. Jason Maas played the second half and also looked sharp. The Als sat Anthony Calvillo, and started Marcus Brady, who saw his first action of the season. The Esks finish at 10-8, so that means that all four Western teams finish with a winning record. This could have been a preview of the Eastern Final, although with so many Als starters out it wasn't the same. The players got pretty testy in the fourth quarter.

About a month ago I read an Ann Coulter column in which she said that there are three types of voters in America - liberals, conservatives and idiots. The idiots are the people who aren't sure whether they are liberal or conservative, and could vote either way! -
Here's a good article by Jaime Stein picking the best players of the league. I notice that he picks Henry Burris as the best in the West. I would have picked Wes Cates. I expect that more than a few voters will go for Cam Wake. http://cfl.ca/article/stein-if-i-had-a-vote

Thanks for your suggestions, guys! I plan to pick up at least four, but I have decided to wait until after I have finished my Christmas shopping, to make sure there is enough money in the bank!

Don Matthews today announced his retirement from coaching. http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...lobeSports/home ***** Here's a good recap of the Argos' season: http://www.thestar.com/Sports/Football/article/527988 ***** Here's a photo of a typical Argos fan! Saskatchewan Roughriders 45....Toronto Argonauts 38 http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...aspx?id=4188238 Terrific game! The Argos dominated the first three quarters, but the Riders came back and won it with 12 seconds to go. So the Argos finish the season 0-8 under Don Matthews. Sask's victory means that they will finish second in the West if Calgary beats BC. If BC wins, they will finish second.

It's great to see another baseball thread thoroughly dominated by Red Sox fans! (Don't get me wrong, I'm one too, to the extent that I pay attention to baseball.)

I see that Lala has both Groovadelphia and This is the Place! Groovadelphia costs 80 cents! Actually, that seems to be the price for most albums which have eight or more songs. I have found a few albums with major discounts. For example, the 2-CD best of compilation of Julie London has 50 songs and goes for $2.00. So the 10 cents per song model seems to apply mostly to individual songs rather than albums. There are also discounts for downloading albums. A typical album downloads for $7.49, which is Groovadelphia's price.

Christian Science Monitor ends print edition

After years of reading how respected it is, I subscribed to it for a year about twenty years ago. I don't want to diss it, but I didn't think it was that big a deal. I enjoyed it enough to read every issue, but I didn't look forward to receiving it, if you know what I mean. Still, as a daily newspaper reader, I think it's a real loss for the country that the number of newspapers has declined so during my lifetime. On the other hand, I've been scratching my head for years wondering what the publishers are thinking about. For the past 25 years, more Americans have identified themselves in polls as conservative than liberal (something like 36 to 28%), yet everywhere I've lived the newspaper has been liberal. I think every metro would be a better place if it had both a liberal and a conservative newspaper to compete against one another. -
Hey, this is great Jim! I had never gone to Pandora before. I thought you had to pay to subscribe to it. I typed in Organissimo, and the first song that came up was Wealthy Street. I've bookmarked it.

Both of these go on sale today. I continue to enjoy the Road Shows cd very much. The selections were well made. My copy of the In Vienne dvd has arrived, but I haven't had the opportunity to put it on yet. It looks like there is a pretty fair amount on the disc in addition to the concert, including podcasts and an itinerary. A couple of years ago my cd player/stereo system component died. I went to BJ's to buy a replacement, and was surprised to see that they didn't sell any. But it occurred to me that dvd players also play cd's, so I bought one of those. So I expect to play In Vienne on my stereo as often as I would a cd.

Benckham is much better in what he's doing than Palin. BG, Palin's job is to get votes for the ticket. Right now, she is the only thing that is stopping this from being a landslide. -
Thanks Chas! Who woulda thunk that we'd be up to 9,217 views?! ***** Winnipeg Blue Bombers 24....Montreal Alouettes 23 http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home Entertaining game played for the purpose of meeting contractual obligations. Jamel Richardson caught his 16th TD pass for the Als. That's a team record. Kevin Glenn left the game in the second quarter with an injured left (non-throwing) hand. We learned last year when he broke his left arm that the Bombers need him badly. Maybe they'll give him the week off next week, to allow him to heal in time for the East Semi-Final.

It's great that you're back, MG! While you were gone, we all wished you a happy birthday!

British Columbia Lions 55....Toronto Argonauts 32 http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home The Roughriders play the Argos next week. The Lions will play the Stampeders. If the Riders win and the Lions lose, the Riders will clinch second place. Otherwise, the Lions will clinch second. The Argos are out of the playoffs, and the Stampeders have clinched first place in the West. So naturally Sask and BC are hoping that their opponents don't show up to play, and that the other guys' do.

Saskatchewan Roughriders 55....Edmonton Eskimos 9 http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...tsFootball/home http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...aspx?id=4187342 The loss assures that Edmonton will finish last in the West for the third consecutive year. They will play Winnipeg in the Eastern Semi-Final. It is conceivable that this year's Grey Cup game will feature the West's first place team against the West's last place team. Sask's defense scored the Riders' first two TDs, and kept the Eskimos out of the end zone. Steven Jyles played the first half for the Riders, and Michael Bishop played the second half. ***** Rod Pedersen is the play-by-play announcer for the Roughriders. He has written a book which is out this week about the Riders' 2007 Grey Cup championship season called Green Magic. http://www.lulu.com/browse/book_view.php?fCID=4607368
