  1. here's the link. http://stores.musictoday.com/store/dept.as..._id=8495&sfid=2 It is (allegedly, anyway) the Petite Wazoo release we have been promised, although it is only one disc, instead of the earlier promised 2 disc. I agree that the Zappa legacy is being badly mishandled. What a shame
  2. alright, I placed my order. Just under $22 for a single CD with standard shipping!! Wow. Let's see if they come through- last time I ordered from them, it went to my old address (even though I had been at my new address for over a year and had updated everything before I placed my order). Thankfully it was forwarded to me.
  3. Didn't Chris Albertson write back in 1970 that there were reels and reels of tapes from the Cellar Door? Then why does it say on the back of this box set that these tapes were newly discovered? Where were they in the meantime?
  4. wait, now I see it. It's on the last page of the booklet, where the credits are.
  5. not metal here. so where is this sticker they had to put on back in october? I don't see it anywhere
  6. I'll believe it when it is in my CD player. I thought the Joe's Domage or whatever the hell it was called was going to be the Petite Wazoo concert, but it turned out to be a very boring rehearsal, take after take-in-the-studio recording
  7. Phase One is excellent. Chi-Congo is now on the way, then
  8. I see CDUniverse has Chi-Congo listed as being reissued today. Does anyone have any comment on this record? I'm going to get it anyway, but I was wondering what people thought of it
  9. so naming a politician is "politics"??
  10. anybody have a review of it yet?
  11. Wasn't there a news item in '92 about how Hilary Clinton donated used underwear to charity and claimed a value of $4 each?* *The aforementioned is not meant to introduce politics to this thread but rather is offered as yet another example of how "Fair Market Value" can be established. Aren't you the guy who went bananas because someone posted Frank Rich's column about a movie outside the politics thread? If so you're a hypocrite . How? The Rich column was all politics, a very clear provocation by Chris; where is the politics in Dan's comment?
  12. All this Grateful Dead talk has me going back to the Golden Road and Beyond Description box sets. I've been spending a lot of time with the early discs (up to Workingman's Dead) of the former, and the first three of the latter (Blues for Allah is still their best studio record, to me at least)
  13. just got my email with tracking #. It says 2nd day AIR-I thought it was ground!! So my ETA is Wednesday, not Thursday as I had been expecting. Now if I can just convince my wife and kids that this is Christmas music!
  14. I disagree. "The Delivery Man" was released in 2004. Rereleases with extra tracks shouldn't count... The Deluxe Edition came out in 2005, so it counts! A couple new songs spread over both discs qualify it, I'd say
  15. I'd even throw in Elvis Costello The Delivery Man, Deluxe Edition
  16. best non-jazz albums are both by Ryan Adams-Cold Roses and Jacksonville City Nights. Followed closely by Prairie Wind by Neil Young
  17. so what is "fair market value" for used CDs?
  18. wow, I never even thought of this. This is a great idea!
  19. Mine also says shipping. I wonder what that means in terms of it getting to me. I selected 2-day shipping, but with the holiday shipping, I wonder if I will get it before the end of the week
  20. lots of Art Ensemble and Anthony Braxton
  21. Get Inside Out and Always Let Me Go right away.
  22. I'm down with the logo
  23. Not until it is in loaded in my CD changer and I am laying on the couch reading the booklet will I believe that it is actually available
