I'm probably in the minority here but.... I think bunting is OK at anytime. It's baseball not women's badminton. I don't care if you're up 20-0 or if it's the last out of a no-hitter. Especially if you're trying to break up a no-no. The alternative would be to have a special category for perfect games when there were no bunt attempts after the 6th inning. WTF?

"No hit" as in "perfect game" right? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300509111 Can't wait to hear what ARod has to say now.

What the fuck is wrong with the citizens of the "Sunshine State"? A 36-year-old man attending the second round of The Players Championship was subdued by a Taser on Friday. Travis Parmelee, of Jacksonville, was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence, said St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Capt. Dave Messenger. Messenger said course marshals notified officers that Parmelee was yelling at players and being belligerent near the 11th hole. Officers responded and attempted to calm Parmelee down, but they said he became more combative. They tried to take Parmelee into custody, but he resisted and was Tased once. It also followed an odd incident Thursday night at TPC Sawgrass. Course superintendent Tom Vlach found a car parked on the par-3 No. 8 shortly after dark. According to a report filed by the Sheriff's Office, Vlach found William John Rinaldi and Brianna Lynn Borelli inside the car with the engine running. Rinaldi refused to turn the motor off and get out of the car, so Vlach called 911. Officers responded and found no damage to the green. Vlach declined to press charges as long as the two were issued a trespass warning. "That was a strange one," Messenger said. http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=5172108

Oh c'mon now. As if other fans at other stadiums don't run onto the field?? NO that never happens in Boston. Obviously, the security overreacted.

Ebay/Paypal Dispute - What are my options
Chalupa replied to Dan Gould's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
So I figured that I wouldn't have to change my bank account number but I would be subject to collection efforts. This is really infuriating but my best option may ultimately be to try to raise another $60 out of my LP listings. And I can't even place negative feedback on this bitch's profile! Sorry, I just double checked. He(seller) had to deposit $500+ into his Paypal account. Now if it had been me I would told them to take a hike but he does a LOT of selling on eBay so he had to pay to unfreeze his Paypal/eBay accounts. End result - he longer ships to India. -
Ebay/Paypal Dispute - What are my options
Chalupa replied to Dan Gould's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Short answer - you're screwed. Paypal's/eBay's new rules definitely favor the buyer in disputes. A friend of mine sold some Wedgwood to a buyer in India for $500. He sent the package with tracking and insurance. The item got lost in India's customs. Buyer did a claim through Paypal and my friend had the full amount of the purchase(including shipping fees) sucked out of his bank account. To make matters worse, USPS won't give him(seller) a refund because as far as they are concerned the package was delivered and India's customs lost it. -
But notice that he didn't say he definitely would not sign with Seattle. I think Lee's agent's comments are part of the cat/mouse game that agents/owners play with each other, seeing who will blink first. I don't think his agent is particularly all that bright. According to all reports Lee wanted to stay in Philly and was truly stunned that he got his ass traded from the best team in the NL to a so-so team in the AL West all because of his agent's demands. Now his agent's comments have pissed off the Mariners fans. Way to go. Regardless, Lee will command top dollar next winter and will be looking for C.C. dollars. Hoping he stays out of a NY (Yanks or Mets) uniform.

Not today. Yeah, seriously. Phils 10, Mets 0. But isn't that just like a Mets fan to get all excited about his team as it peaks in April?
-
Apparently the Flyers' strategy for the series was,"Let Kovalchuk have the puck". He was a non-factor at best. Every time he got the puck the Devils O just sputtered. It's like the rest of the team just stood around watching him waiting for him to do something.

What happened to the New Jersey Devils?? They were the #2 seed in the East and got blown out in the first round by the Flyers, 4-1.

Some interesting names in that one from 68. Roseboro hitting the 1-5-3 TP from pitcher Dooley Womack to third baseman Bobby Cox (yes, that Bobby Cox) to Mickey Mantle. yeah, I heard about Cox being involved, during the braves broadcast. Must have been a pretty crappy Yankees team in 1968 to give Bobby 490 ab's , when he only hit .229! Well, Phils showed they are the team right now...amazing Moyer can still throw 81 and get guys out!!! John Smoltz and Joe Simpson said there must be B.P. pitchers that throw harder! What a great series for the Fightin's. Their starting pitching did not allow an earned run in 3 games. And after losing the the first game in an oh-so-heartbreaking fashion they came back for the next two and reminded everyone in Atlanta that the road to the NL East Championship still goes through Philadelphia. And they did it w/ Rollins, Happ, Lidge, Romero, and Blanton on the DL. Just wait until this team gets healthy. BTW, how weird was it seeing Moyer(47) vs. Heyward(20)?? To put it in proper perspective Moyer's oldest boy will turn 19 this summer.

The Brewers beat the Pirates today by a score of 20 to 0. OUCH!

F'ing Ryan Madson. Coughs up not one but TWO homers w/ 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th blowing Kyle Kendrick's 8 inning shutout. Now it's on to extras. Really wish Atlanta had kept Heyward down for another season.

Art After 5 Presents: Wayne Shorter Quartet Saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter is a living legend. His stellar work with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Miles Davis’ famously experimental mid-1960s quintet, and jazz-fusion pioneers Weather Report established Shorter as one of the most important American jazz musicians of his generation. On Friday, April 23, Shorter will premiere a new composition inspired by the Museum's collection. The Wayne Shorter Quartet in Conversation with Tom Moon Prior to the performance, Shorter and the members of his band—pianist Danilo Perez, bassist John Patitucci, drummer Brian Blade—will participate in a panel discussion moderated by music journalist Tom Moon. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear Shorter and his quartet discuss their influences and creative processes—and Shorter’s new composition. Friday, April 23, 2010 Discussion: 3:00-4:30pm http://www.pcah.us/music/events/wayne-shorter-quartet-and-tom-moon/ Concert: 5:45pm http://www.philamuseum.org/artafter5/ Wayne Shorter Quartet - Bio/photos/audio samples: http://imnworld.com/artists/detail/49/wayne-shorter This program, including the commissioning and presentation, is made possible by a grant from the Philadelphia Music Project, a program of the Philadelphia Center for Arts and Heritage, funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts and administered by The University of the Arts.
