Lovely spring morning here on the English Channel coast. The breeze is still a little fresh but nothing like the last few days. No evidence of volcanic ash but apparently it's there.

Miles Davis/Tadd Dameron Quintet; Paris Festival International De Jazz May 1949. CBS Thanks for the reminder Brownie, this hasn't been out for years. Sounds pretty good too, much better than I remembered. Nicely presented in the gatefold jacket.

Mating Call tops my list. runners up The Lost Session tracks on Blue Note and Fontainebleau

This was on the back of my old UK Esquire issue of this record. I was a teenager at the time and fairly new to jazz, I found it confusing and not helpful at all.

I rather liked the It Crowd, it was something a little different, but I think it's run its course now.
