  1. I have the same copy, the Counce and Perkins too. Rather poor pressings.
  2. Clark Terry; Serenade To A Bus Seat. Riverside/OJC.
  3. Prestige All Stars; Roots. Prestige Japan
  4. Gene Ammons; Up Tight. Prestige, ACE UK issue.
  5. The BN discography lists, Jimmy Deucher, Eddie Harvey, Dankworth, Don Rendell, Bill LeSage, Eric Dawson and Tony Kinsey. Four titles are listed. These plus Tea for Two and Cherokee on BN 1612. Hope that helps.
  6. Awful sound on the lp. Spoilt the music for me.
  7. You'll have a fabulous trip Stefan. We did an escorted tour a couple of years ago and had a great time. Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xian. Took in most of the tourist spots like the Forbidden City, terracotta army, Great Wall etc. I would have liked to have seen a little of some more rural areas but it was so interesting I wouldn't mind going back. I guess our trip was tailored to western tastes but as your wife is Chinese I'm sure you'll be able to get much closer to the real China.
  8. Happy Birthday Mark.
  9. Probably so Hans, but I still want to hear these at the very least.
  10. I want these. Definitely deserve reissue.
  11. Just heard from MG via email - he is suffering from a repetitive strain injury in his right arm and is limiting his computer use. Sorry to hear that, but I'm glad it's nothing more serious. RSI possibly aggravated by excessive vinyl handling and use of turntable pick up arm.
  12. Inspired by another thread - Modern Trumpet Leaders. IAJRC.
  13. Thanks for posting Jim. The post reminded me that I have the IAJRC album. Pulled out now for a play.
  14. Presumably a lot depends on the source. The last couple of Fresh Sound Stitt's I bought were quite acceptable.
  15. Bill, Did you spot that Fresh Sound have issued Stitt's Blows the Blues and The Hard Swing coupled on one cd. Ordered yesterday.
  16. Have a good one Shawn
  17. Another year, another Birthday. Happy Birthday Lon, hope it's a good one.
  18. Love the price sticker on that one ! A lot of good Savoy mayerial on those Realm issues. Ah yes! Those were the days!
  19. Dave Brubeck; Gone With The Wind. Embassy UK pressing.
  20. A lot of members here enjoy Threadgill's more recent work. I'm not one of them but anything by Air is pretty much essential imo.
  21. This is terrible news. I was talking to him a few weeks ago when we booked him to perform at Portsmouth Jazz. A very fine drummer and a nice guy.
  22. Eddie Bert; Encore. Savoy(Japan)
  23. Cannonball Adderley; Discoveries. Savoy Jazz (BMG France)
  24. A couple of fun tracks. I used to have the double vinyl but it didn't stand the test of time.
