  1. Sad news. RIP.
  2. Merry Christmas everyone.
  3. Bill Barron; Hot LIne. Arista Savoy
  4. Thanks Steve. I love Ray. It's about time we had something new from him on cd.
  5. Traditional fare here. Turkey and ham, pigs in blankets, honey roast parsnips, etc. I do sweet potatoes which we don't normally have throughout the year. When it comes to sprouts we have them regularly when in season. We like them. Another thing don't dismiss the humble swede. We have it most Sundays, steamed, mashed and with a good twist of black pepper from the mill.
  6. Fascinating at the time. High society, sex, politics, Russian spies.
  7. Looks like this one crossed the Atlantic twice. It has a UK copyright import label.
  8. I've often wondered about that one. Is it as restrained as I've heard tell? effectively a ballad album? One of the best ballads records I know. Quite muscular in parts.
  9. Belated birthday greetings Gheorghe. Trust it was a good one.
  10. My few orders have always been fulfilled quickly and without difficulty. I''m quite happy with cdjapan. I'd recommend them on based on my experience.
  11. Mine arrived today. Something nice to have.
  12. Grant Green was part of a Guitar Night in a Jazz Expo tour. I didn't get to this concert in the London leg of the tour but I'm guessing 1968 or 69. Maybe November. (sorry didn't spot that Brownie had come up with the date)
  13. In help they have a link to how to cancel an order. Not tried it so I don't know what's there.
  14. I like that one, too, but I've got the Artists House reissue, and never noticed any issues with the "presence" of the horns. Either it was remixed or I just never noticed. As I recall it has been remixed ( possibly more than once). The horns on the RT issue provide background sounds only Yes, I have the DIW cd. Around this time Ulmer played a couple of concerts in London. Notably a gig at the Roundhouse with a quartet featuring Murray. Terrific stuff. Like that Artists House jacket.
  15. Nice to hear Peter Clayton's voice again. I knew him well back in the day. Thanks to him I went to a lot of great performances I would probably of otherwise missed.
  16. Still bingeing on Miles Earlier Complete Bitches Brew disc 3 Now Complete in A Silent Way.
  17. Just finished discs 5 and 6. Astonishing playing from Tony Williams.
  18. Nature Boy works for me.
  19. Four new Miles tracks must have some merit.
  20. I had the first couple of Steeplechase issues. Kept them for a while but didn't keep them. Those were enough for me. They didn't do anything for me. Very disappointing.
