  1. I'm wishing I found something more interesting to play to start off the day.
  2. Happy Birthday Bob. Have a great day. I'm with you in spirit.
  3. King Records Next on
  4. Toshiba 12" issue
  5. I'm going back a few years here - Woody Herman - Blues in the Night. Could have been a lot worse.
  6. Belated Happy Birhday greetings Stephen
  7. I'm by no means a fan of Peterson. I was told years ago that the one to get was Night Train but when I eventually heard it didn't do anything for me. On the other hand a friend found two ancient Peterson vinyls in a charity shop last week - Plays Ellington and Plays Count Basie. Although two or three three tracks were to me, truly awful, I have to own up that some of it was pretty listenable.
  8. Happy Birthday kh.
  9. I have all the volumes of that one as well - time to dig it out. I have all three too. I've been meaning to pull them out for quite a while. They ramble a bit but more than listenable.
  10. Upgraded in the week too. Took over an hour but following the install the desktop looked much the same as before. Like Bev everything seems to work much as before. Third party apps didn't make it but I'm not sure I wanted them anyway. Played about a bit with the start menu and tidied it up.So far so good.
  11. I'm playing Vol 1, almost the same cover.
  12. Joe Pass - For Django. Pacific Jazz(Liberty). I like the two guitar lineup.
  13. Yes, an interesting bunch. I was hoping that they would complete their David Murray's with this release.
  14. Click on the number at the top left of the image frame Bill.
  15. I'm not sure the horn section adds much. I'd rather just hear the trio.
  16. I'll probably hit the buy button.
  17. Prompted by this topic I played ScoLoHoFo yesterday. I've never really taken to it I'm sorry to say, possibly because of its different feel. I saw Lovano's two drummer band a few years back. Lovano sounded fine with a massive sound but some of the impact was lost as the piano was badly miced or mixed. Still enjoy a lot of Sco's playing, mainly caught on dvd from European tv. Most of his recent albums have passed me by. II think with the BNs and Gramavisions I probably have the best.
  18. I've not bought any Sco lately but I'm a fan of the Sco/Lovano Blue Notes. I cant really see this one capturing the essence of the 90's band.
  19. Earlier John Lewis, Sacha Distel; Afternoon In Paris. Atlantic Japan.
  20. I can't understand why there is no European distribution. My copy was new sealed and factory fresh
  21. Have a very happy birthday Lon.
  22. IIRC I paid around £15 for mine from an Amazon seller in Germany.
  23. Okay, thanks David and Dan, The Lighthouse it is.
