Get well soon Dennis. A nice guy and incredibly good to deal with. Most of his stuff can be recommended but the Silkhearts come near tthe top for me.
  3. Belated birthday greetings. Welcome to the world of 73ers.
  4. Probably about £1.50 in Asmans back in the 80s. No cover though. It was an especially good find as Smokestack was very hard to find at the time.
  5. One from my collection, posted before years ago but what the heck. I was there Bob.My first jazz concert
  6. Slightly disappointing as so much of this is already out there. Nevertheless I can see myself getting this one.
  7. Don't know the actual time but the board is very slow for a couple of hours either side of 8.00 am (UK time)
  8. . Both Japanese issues
  9. Surprisingly hard to find now from a UK seller at a reasonable price.
  10. Late UA pressing with Blue and white label
  11. I don't believe I've ever heard these tracks.
  12. likewise, I received a "back in stock" email and went to order and poof it was gone edit: there are a number of copies on ebay as low as $19.99 (I bit at that price) search Larry Young RSD Thanks Eric. I'll be thinking about it, the shipping charges for the UK from these vendors seems excessive compared to say Dusty Groove.
  13. I had hoped to pick up a copy of the Larry Young from Dusty Groove from their website post RSD. Sadly I just missed the boat.
  14. RIP, thanks for all the music.
  15. Happy Birthday Flurin.
  16. Thanks Jeff for prompting me to get this out. I feel very fortunate to have been at Ayler's London School of Economics concert in 1966.
  17. Ten minutes of medium tempo foot tapping blues. Long solos all round. Probably what you would expect from this lineup.
  18. You must have had a duff copy I guess. Just given this one a re-spin to check and no complaints here. It looks essentially unplayed and I think came from the archive of 'Gramophone' magazine, probably a major plus factor. No doubt 90% of the copies that made it this far have sadly been hammered to death on record changers and sonically oliterated by styli like knitting needles ! I no longer have my mono Fontana issue but IIRC it sounded fine to me.
