  1. Just took a gander at their website and it doesn't look like they got too far, does it. My guess is that putting out the same titles that have been out on CD two or three times already didn't work out too well sales-wise. Yeah, that was my impression too, when I looked at their website. I wonder who's going to take a stab at the Bethlehem catalog now?
  2. Just snagged Tubby Hayes "NY Sessions" for $6 at Half Price tonight!
  3. Don't know if these are available still, but I have the five volumes released by Virgin Classics back in the early nineties performed by Jean-Bernard Pommier. I think his treatment of Mozart's piano sonatas are especially good. Edit to include one of the covers. They're all the same except each volume has a different color logo.
  4. Looking forward to the all of the recommendations and discoveries.
  5. Tonight, its baked fish, rice and peas.
  6. Well crap.
  7. Thanks for the link to the original covers!
  8. Thanks!
  9. The one at the Village Vanguard is especially fine. RIP.
  10. Interesting. I wonder how Miles felt about Teo negotiating his gig as Miles!
  11. Finally got back to reading Art Pepper's Straight Life. Seems that I start five or so books and never get around to finishing them. I'm going to finish this one gaddammit!
  12. Still recovering from that huge storm that hit Ohio on Sunday, and got hit with that storm twice: first in Chicago on Saturday, then Cleveland on Sunday/Monday.
  13. So is Shout done with Bethlehem?
  14. Yeah, I hear ya. Once in a blue moon, we'll actually get somethin' else besides a re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-issue of A Love Supreme.
  15. Thanks, but I'm just interested in what Rhino/Avenue Jazz put out on cd-I think from roughly 1999-2001.
  16. Does anyone have a complete list of what Bethlehem/AvenueJazz/Rhino released?
  17. RVG's and Conns are still alive
  18. I remember this one from a couple of years ago I think! Yes, this one is absolutely insane!
  19. RVG has the green light from me. The remastering on both Love Call and New York sound like they were remastered in a paper bag. FWIW, I like The Empty Foxhole, but Dernado's drumming is not for everyone.
  20. Late to the thread, but amazing, candid photos!
  21. Up. Are there any more Atlanitc/Warner remasters coming out? Like Shout Factory, its like these reissue programs have gone dormant.
  22. Up. Just curious if Shout is doing any more Bethlehem titles? Its been almost two, three or so years and haven't heard a peep.
  23. I hear ya. I grew up in South Florida (moved in 1988) and there was nothing like running the air conditioning on Christmas Day. We also used to spray fake snow on our windows and we also had a fake fireplace that we would set up in the living room. Now that I live in Ohio, I not only have a real fireplace but real snow!
  24. Tried a ham & cheese sandwich from "Panera Bread" last night and it reminds me very much of Schlotzky's Deli-in other words its pretty good Tonight: Baked chicken, rice and corn.
  25. Hank Mobley's A Slice of the Top Thanks. Great session BTW!
