I know emusic itself is a good deal (especially for jazz or albums with long tracks), but I just think it's a drag that they clear your downloads. What if you had planned on downloading some albums and your computer crashes or you go on vacation, or just forget. I don't think it would be difficult to keep your account credited with those tracks. That's all I was saying. Heck, I may try emusic again sometime.

Wow! That's a real ripoff. It's not like you didn't have to pay for those tracks with your monthly fee in the first place. Heck, even the cell phone companies are now rolling over minutes to the next month.

Is the request for a title/artwork change coming from the artist or EMI? I really don't want to say anything negative about Sims if he's not the guilty party, but if he's the hold up then... If Sims is the holdup - give him the liners to write an impassioned plea for his point of view. That would do much more for his point of view than stifling this work. I find the new FBI logos on all CDs much more offensive than the reference to Basra.

Thanks for the info, Kevin. It's been a while, but I have to give Blue Note... I'll wait until Vietnam 2 is over if I have to (or buy the Japanese RVG).

Andrew Hill Select now on the Mosaic Website!!!!!
AfricaBrass replied to Rooster_Ties's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
ah, the possibilities ... btw, be careful, very careful, when doing a Google image search for "whipped" ... Reminds me of my FAVORITE Cat Shatner photo... Some day I'd love to hear the story behind the creation of Cat Shatner. He wasn't created. He always was and always will be. Actually, since I work in Photoshop, I love messing with photos. I did a whole series of animals in the Star Trek outfit, but only Cat Shatner came to life.... I think WD45 named him Cat Shatner (sorry if I'm wrong)... I used to call him James T. Cat. I think the bigger story is his adventures in that whipped cream, but to each his own. ** Sorry for another thread hijack ** Back to our previously scheduled programming... -
Picture in Jack Wilson "Easterly Winds"

Sorry, I don't have my scanner set up... That is a funny picture. It's a standing group shot and in the front, Cranshaw and Higgins are sitting on the ground. Cranshaw is rolling his eyes (so you see the whites) and Higgins is leaning on him with a big grin. They look like they are so HIGH. If you look at everyone's eyes, they all seem to have a twinkle in them. I have really been enjoying this session. From the looks of it, they were too. -
Our name for the people in hair bands was "hair farmers." I haven't thought to that in years.

Nice!

Nah. My brother and I just have different views on how strict the moderating on this forum should be. I'm pretty loosey-goosey overall. He would prefer a more "iron fisted" approach. I appreciate your approach. I really think a board should police itself; if a person is out of line, then that person should be called on it by the other members. I don't really like being told what I can say or think. I get enough of that in the real world. IMO, it's cool to set rules (no religion, politics, etc...) in the first place, but unless there's a problem, rules just stifle conversation. Look at all the new laws that make our "free" country not so free. Thanks Jim!

It was a drag playing music in LA during the 80's and NOT being a hair band. At least integrity pays the bills.

Now that's funny! I haven't heard back yet...

How does it make u feel when u start a thread...

That's cool. Just pace yourself. I ran out of things to say a couple thousand posts ago. -
I just realized that the Seven Steps box is in the old slipcase style. If your friend ends up collecting the sets, he might want the newer (and cheaper) versions. The Blackhawk sets are great, but so is the Davis/Coltrane set. I really like the group(s) he had on that one. It's all good.

Hey there is more to life than posting a thread or two, I try and just see it as a hobby, something I do to chill out no more and no less. Che. You must be really chillin' out. So far it's 88 posts in your first day. At this pace, you'll be passing all of us up before too long. Actually, che started chillin' yesterday. I was thinking first 24 hours. How's that? Go on and get all technical with me. I'm afraid of what will happen when Che is feeling kind of agitated... I find myself posting a little more when I'm wound up. -
It looked like a short '57 Chevy. The car was confirmed as a Studebaker, though. It had small fins on the back. I'll email him and see if I can get a picture.

My former coworker bought a '58 Stude for his wife a few years ago. I think he paid around $3000 for it. He kept trying to find out what model it was without any luck, and he took it to the local Studebaker car club. It turns out that it was a prototype. He was really blown away. These guys were making offers on it, but he kept it.

One of the board members here, Ghost of Miles, has a radio show called Night Lights. You might want to check out some of the archived shows. His shows are themed and they're really good. http://www.indiana.edu/~wfiu/nightlights.htm

I have this album and I've listened to it a few times. It's nice, but I think I need to listen to it some more. I like the American thing.

That's true. At least she's not listening to what most 12 year olds are... Hell...I was listening to Mahavishnu when I was 12 or 13! I meant today. I was listening to offbeat stuff at 12. I hope the kids today are the same.
