  1. Thanks for posting that link, David. I really like The Crabpicker. I think you can adjust the properties of your avatar in the control panel so that it won't compress. It can be 100 pixels wide, but it just won't be 100 pixels tall.
  2. Welcome Peggy-Ann! On this topic, I have CDs that are scratched and still play, but I agree with Jazzbo and his suggestion, "Best to just be careful and respectful of the silver discs! " As David commented on discs that won't play on stereos playing on computer. I've had two discs where that was the case and I quickly copied them on the computer when I discovered they worked.
  3. Yikes! This is real. I remember when this all was happening. I had a roomate who was into death metal and grindcore. He actually had a girlfriend who shared this passion. Here I was, the happy jazz pothead living with this couple. We made a deal that I'd listen to jazz in my room and they'd listen to their death metal in their room. They loved telling me the stories about these guys. It was a weird time. I like in the AMG biography, they have the link for vocalist "Dead" (he chose his name well) that goes to the Grateful Dead. Don't eat Jerry! I now have a new rule for any band I'm in. If someone calls himself Count "Anything" they're not playin' bass for me. I for one, am not going to purchase their Mosaic set.
  4. Good point!
  5. They're playing some great stuff. Could you imagine living in a world where THIS MUSIC was played on the radio all the time and the people who played it were as famous as pop stars and rappers today? It think that would be Heaven.
  6. THANKS for posting this, Brad!
  7. Thank you, Jimmy Smith for all the great music you brought us! I hope you're looking down on all of us as we're playing your music and remembering you. I can just see the jam session happening on the other side. I hear they're still making B3's over there.
  8. It doesn't bother me if some people buy sets with plans to sell them in the future. I'm just happy that someone is buying the set from Mosaic in the first place. I figure the more sets they sell, the better the chances that they'll stay around and be in business for a long time. These days it's pretty easy to keep track of a Mosaic set's availability status. I guess I would only be bothered by this subject if a set just hit running low and one person came in and bought ALL the remaining sets. I know it's there right, but it wouldn't be cool IMO. I've used the argument with my wife that Mosaic sets increase in value. That has really helped me convince her to buy them for me as gifts or look the other way as my collection has grown. I've never sold any of my sets, so you can see I'm not just investing in them, but sometimes I see dollar signs in my wifes eyes as she has looked at my sets.
  9. That's a funny commercial!
  10. Now that godaddy.com is getting so much attention; I hope their prices don't increase. I've been getting domain names from them for years.
  11. heheheheh. reminds me of that silly Timmons - Soul Food cover. Silly is good.
  12. Nice one, Jim! Ron, I give up. Let's see... I've got the Iron City beer, a photo of Grant Green....
  13. I was going for the period of Grant Green's childhood. I didn't want to use a modern photo. That would be so 32Jazz of me.
  14. This is a picture of Pittsburgh. At least it better be.
  15. Hmmmm . . . does THIS maybe look familiar??? You're killing me, Ron!!!! Actually, I figured it was okay to use the Brooklyn Bridge because I own it. I got a sweetheart of a deal on it.
  16. Jeff might qualify for a bigger discount B-) ! Thanks Mark! Ron,
  17. Aren't we all in enough financial trouble already? I ended up getting another 20 OJC's based upon that thread. Thanks!
  18. I live on the west coast, I don't know bridges. I just did a google search for bridges. Drat! Back to the drawing board.
  19. You're welcome, Mark! I'm glad I could help out. You have a lot of great photos in there.
  20. Be honest, Dude. That's pretty much your look NOW. I'm married now, my wife wouldn't leave the house with me if I looked like that still. Oh yeah??? Then how do you explain THIS photo taken of you and your wife OUTSIDE your house last Labor Day:
