  1. It's always the drummer... If he did it on purpose... I agree with Jim S that he would need to be fired, but I THANK him for exposing this FRAUD for what it is. It's really sad that we live in a day that lip-syncing is acceptable. But... if you're listening to performers who lip sync, in the first place, you deserve what you get... Oh... my acid reflux is acting up... gotta go.
  2. It's GREAT to have the site back up! Man... I can't believe how much I missed this place. It's like the internet was broken or something... There just wasn't anything to do (while the site was down). Great work, Jim! I'll pony up some cash when I get a job...
  3. When speaking of look-alikes, my first thought goes to a favorite website... http://www.menwholooklikekennyrogers.com/
  4. Another belated birthday greeting... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  5. Happy belated Birthday, Daniel! Good luck on staying away from the board in December... I took a break myself, but the force is strong here. It pulled me right back in.
  6. I hope you have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  7. I'm sorry that it wasn't your best birthday... I hope your next birthday is much happier!
  8. Thanks for the offer! I might just take you up on it some time.
  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  10. Thanks Jim! I've been following this thread for a while and I'm really CURIOUS about Jandek. Now I just need to get a job so I can order my 20 cds.
  11. I've read that Garcia's heroin use began during the hiatus while he was editing the Grateful Dead movie. This seems to explain the really laid back vibe that settled over the band upon its' 1976 return to touring. I do enjoy late '70's Dead, especially '76 and '77. My guess is the heroin honeymoon lasted for a few years. Garcia was able to handle it, but by the 80's it took over and his playing suffered. To me, Garcia was a MONSTER player before the hiatus in '74.
  12. Another belated birthday greeting to you! I hope you had a great B-day!
  13. Happy belated birthday!!! I hope it was a very special day for you and your daughter.
  14. Happy Birthday Chris!! It's funny when I was first on this board I didn't agree with you much. Now I find I do agree with you most of the time. Long ago in a post on religion, you said things that really made me really think, which subsequently contributed to my growth. Thanks!
  15. I hope your week gets better Al! That's some scary stuff. Fire especially. I'm glad you, your family, and your home are okay. I'm so afraid of fire that I won't burn candles in my house. I don't even like using the fireplace. Maybe you should find a nice rock to crawl under for the rest of the week.
  16. Yeah... it really is a trap. But... they're so beautiful. They are art to me. I know all about the wife's foot being put down. LOL I'm basically in trade mode at this point. I can't put any money into instruments anymore.
  17. Those are NICE guitars! I used to have an early 70's Gretsch Roc Jet, but it had binding that was rotting. I realized I couldn't afford to have the binding done and the guitar refinished, so I sold it. My newest guitar is a '04 Gretsch Firebird with Filtertrons. It's one of the new ones that have come out since Fender took over Gretsch's distribution, and it is an AMAZING guitar. I also bought a Gretsch 6118 Double Anniversary (with Bigsby) last year. I LOVE that guitar.
  18. I used to collect books. I probably had a couple thousand of them. I just got tired of lugging them around in all my moves and sold them off. I've come to a place where I'm ready to sell off a lot of my music. There is one thing that I still collect. Guitars Guitars Guitars I'm like a dope fiend for guitars. I know I can't play them all at the same time, but they bring me so much joy. I've come to a place where I'm getting rid of the cheaper ones and consolidating them into guitars that were once just "dream guitars". I had around 35 guitars earlier this year and I'm down to around 25 really nice ones.
  19. I hope you have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
  20. My favorite version of Jitterbug Waltz is Eric Dolphy's on the Conversations album.
  21. Guilty here... Heck, it's so bad that I've got mine safely stored away (120 miles from here). I've got a bunch of discs from my sets ripped to my Nomad Jukebox which is some consolation, I guess.
