The widely accepted notion that Kobe does not make his teammates better is, imo, not true at all. He sets up teammates for more wide open shots that get missed than you'd believe. If he had teammates the caliber of those on the Pistons or Spurs or Suns Kobe could average ten assists a game. LeBron is as gifted a passer as there is, his numbers very often approach triple-doubles. The Cavs practically had to beg him to be more assertive as a scorer, and now he is obliging their wishes.

Anyone see the highlights from Lamar Odom's triple double last night? He had one where he dove on a loose ball, then from the ground a la Magic Johnson threw a bounce pass through a defender's legs to Kobe for a dunk. Later in the game he drove the baseline and jumped from way behind the backboard to make an impossible reverse layup. Looked just like Dr. J, I shit you not.

And yes, the Lakers suck. They're on a collision course with the Spurs in round one, break out the brooms.

I did mine on Turbo Tax software for the first time this year. The Lakers are torture to watch. It's Kobe, Odom, and a bunch of Development League players. That they are tied for 7th place is either a testament to how mediocre the whole league is or how good a coach Phil Jackson is. He's squeezing blood from a rock. Artest just about single-handedly took down the Clips last night in the 4th quarter. He's looney tunes, but he's pretty clutch.
