  1. Yeah, both were nails.
  2. With the tendency Lidge has to throw his slider for a wild pitch, why leave him out there to just throw fastballs (to A-Rod no less) once a runner is at third? Epic meltdown, my condolences Phillies fans.
  3. The "More Cowbell" skit comes to mind while reading this thread. I find these sort of harshly dismissive opinions perplexing. When I hear phenomenal drumming I'm aware of it, but I can dig a tune even if the drumming is minimal or just keeping a pace I like. That is to say I run the gamut of digging everything from the virtuoso technique of a Baby Dodds to a well-programmed drum machine...
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if every bit of it is accurate. No wonder Stern doesn't want this published. Even though Donaghy has an axe to grind, I think he's grinding it with legitimate, believable dirt. Of course, with my Rambis goggles on I would have a hard time saying I didn't think the Kings got a whole lot of calls before the officiating swung the Lakers' way. I've been a fan of the Lakers my whole life, so I have a difficult time not seeing it that way. I recall there being a discrepancy between the way illegal defense was being called all year and how it was called early in that series, with guards sagging down on Shaq so there wasn't time to set up the inside/outside game. Then again, I've always been dubious about the existence of such a thing as "illegal defense," so I digress... Oh, and I love the NBA game. Most of the best basketball talent in the world is on the court. The level of the game isn't higher anywhere else, not to say I don't love the college game too.
  5. Hell, Shaq was fat and slow when he was a Laker. I disagree, Agg. Shaq was young and fast when he was a Laker. He could elevate, move his feet on defense, block shots, run the floor on a fast break, beat his man to a spot on the block consistently...and can't consistently do any of those things anymore.
  6. I pre-ordered my copy! Looking forward to hearing it, Jim.
  7. No doubt, a healthy Spurs team will definitely pose the biggest threat to the Lakers out West. The Jazz, Nuggets, and Blazers will be feisty but aren't scary like the Spurs. Out East, the Celtics and Magic are better than the Cavs as far as I'm concerned. Shaq wasn't intimidating on the Suns and isn't intimidating on the Cavs. He's fat, old, and slow. It's going to be a failed experiment and ultimately will contribute to LeBron James departing Cleveland. Of course, all of this is barring injuries on any team.
  8. Oh, I know another chick who smoked "glass" for years before kicking the habit a few years back. She's got all sorts of other problems, mainly with her spine and a new addiction to painkillers, but she's got a hot body and a pretty face. If I didn't know, I wouldn't know.
  9. No matter the category, it's weird for cardio-vascular primed athletes to use the sort of creepy chemical drugs which are known to be so physically (and mentally) risky and damaging.
  10. I know this chick who said she first used speed when she was given it by her high school cross country coach (!) to help her be "skinnier and faster." It's amazing how crap finds its way to those who you would think would be the most health-conscious, most anti-drug types imaginable.
  11. You know I'm down for this one, Jimmy.
  12. Congrats Yankee fans! Go Phillies!
  13. Raiders finally yanked JaHopeless Russell in the 2nd quarter of today's 38-0 whooping they took from the Jets.
  14. They got hosed much worse earlier when the zebras negated a Favre touchdown pass on that bogus "tripping" call. Nice home cooking for the Stoolers.
  15. LOL @ how bad my picks are this week. I meant to edit a few last night and never got around to it. Hopefully I haven't knocked myself completely out of the running for the end of the year.
  16. Congratulations, Phillies fans! If you play the Yanks, don't let us down. If you play the Angels, get swept! LOL
  17. His wife must have REALLY been holding out on the nookie for him to hit that.
  18. I had this comment ready to go on the page, but didn't feel like registering.
  19. Is it frowned upon to eat with the lid up?
  20. OK, what in the holy hell did this third base ump smoke tonight?
  21. Ouch, that hurt. Congrats on the victory, Phillies fans.
  22. Just in case: there is archival, acid-free clear tape that won't yellow or destroy the ink/paper underneath.
