Dan, here's my analysis: How does "already standing on the ground" make him know she "won't let him down?" Sweet. So, that pretty much cancelled itself out. There he goes, "standing on the ground" again. So much for the "peaceful, easy feeling." Dude only has "this feeling" that he knows the girl as a "lover and a friend," and he's hearing voices that she's hitting the road! But, we're right back to the "peaceful, easy feeling" and knowing she won't let him down because of that all-solving fact that he is upright on the earth. The Dude and I aren't entirely on the same page. I sort of like the Eagles, but ever since seeing The Big Lebowski I started thinking about it and the lyrics annoy me for the above reasons.

The Lakers aren't stepping up in the face of adversity. The Celtics Big Three are bad match ups for the Lakers, and Perkins and Powe are great off the glass. EDIT: Last night I mistyped "diversity" where I meant to type "adversity" not once, but twice. Yikes, too much medicine.

The Lakers missed shots and free throws. Not much else to say beyond that. Kobe was well-defended and didn't press the issue enough. Odom got in foul trouble. The Celtics' Big Three all played well, and Sam Cassell played great off the bench. Pierce was so hurt that he could barely throw in back to back threes on fast breaks. EDIT: Apologies to BruceW and Paul Secor, I'm a bit on edge lately and flew off the handle. Sorry to be such a jerk.

Whatever. I said what the Lakers need to do to win and I credited the Celtics. Anyone who knows the game of basketball knows the game last night had some mighty slanted officiating. The home-court advantage for every team has been especially obvious this year (for the Lakers, too). If you think that game last night was evenly called, you don't know what you're looking at.

A whole lot of shots rattled out for the Lakers, and they shot a poor percentage from the free throw line. That's a recipe for losing on the road, especially with the miserable officiating from Dick Bavetta and crew. Kobe needs to attack the basket and not settle for jumpers. Celtics look strong, and they got fired up by Pierce's theatrics.

Well, apparently the league not only calls the game differently in last few seconds, but it decides to second-guess its referees for only the last few seconds. Why not review every call in the game if they're going to review one? Let's do a game-long instant replay and decide games by how many bad calls went against a team instead of the final score. Celtics about to put this one away...
