  1. Looking forward to it, Free! Sorry to have missed you guys on Friday, I was on the road.
  2. I came home from a snowboarding excursion to find my carefully packaged Gerald Wilson box awaiting my return. Thanks again David!
  3. Oh, my collection has more holes than an afghan. The upside is still getting to hear albums like Crescent for the first time! "Lonnie's Lament," holy smokes.
  4. Happy Birthday Kyo!
  5. The newest addition to my Coltrane section: A beautiful album.
  6. I like World B's picks but I'll go with the Red Sox beating the Mets in five in the WS.
  7. I've only got Fuchsia Swing Song and Contours so far from Sam, so I'll be interested to read what Rivers I'm missing out on.
  8. Maybe D.B. Cooper didn't know that, the parachute didn't work, and he was still accelerating on impact. I sure would have been scouring the surroundings for a suitcase full of cash before reporting that parachute!
  9. Hey, the Queens shouldn't have been fouling so much.
  10. Salt mines are massive. Apparently this is an image of a salt mine mummy.
  11. I'm used to eating very bland foods, so I never add salt. I really notice it when I do eat something salty, like french fries or chips.
  12. Oh boy, looks like another from the Stonesthrow guys! Midwest Funk was outstanding, I'll get that one for sure SS1.
  13. Wow, really beautiful design on that game, Jim. I dig the war-torn cityscapes.
  14. I'm a fan of both Kool & The Gang and Black Heat, so it's definitely cool to read how they were being received in their day. The grooves these groups came up with, particularly Kool & The Gang...as funky as it gets! There are few funk acts I'd rate higher, The JB's and the Parliament/Funkadelic band and maybe the Meters. I especially dig the early instrumental jams from Kool..."Dujji" "Jungle Jazz" "Summer Madness"...so good.
  15. I knew the Aggs would be a tough matchup for the Bruins. Again, a few friendly non-calls and a few buckets from losing. UCLA can't expect to keep landing butter side up, they need to find some sort of fluidity on offense. Love and Collison accounted for nearly all of the Bruins' points, and Shipp scored not one bucket.
  16. Who hates Odom? He scores 15 points and grabs 15 rebounds every game. With a healthy Gasol and Odom as the third option, most teams cannot effectively match up with Lamar. Huge win for the Lakers last night to salvage their road trip and improve to .500 without Gasol.
  17. The Aggs will be a real test for the Bruins, who have walked a tightrope during their current winning streak. I fear they may have a letdown after facing such an inferior opponent last night and now facing a much more formidable Texas A&M team. The Bruins have been subject to lulls in their offensive production which causes them to fall behind, and they've had to come back in the second half to win games--in several games merely a few friendly calls and lucky shots from losing.
  18. MG is probably just looking for a cd somewhere at the far end of his collection.
  19. Really lame and mean. I think she's sexy.
  20. Another venture to West Africa, perhaps? ¡Regresà, Señor Goldberg!
  21. Were any of you guys surprised by Eubie's high praise for Dick Hyman's and Oscar Peterson's playing? I mean, I like them both but I'm just sayin'...
  22. Up!!! Another year in the books, Rooster! Happy Birthday!
  23. I'm Irish...and German, Dutch, Welsh, Swedish, and probably a host of other European nationalities. My folks don't know for sure. We're mutts.
  24. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
