  1. Skateboarder here. We hate the fruit-booters.
  2. Watch it on youtube!
  3. Side note: Shrieve's drum solo on "Soul Sacrifice" from the Woodstock show is insane!
  4. An utterly incredible album. I've always counted it as a rock album, thought it does straddle the line, but it's always been a Desert Island Disc for me regardless of classification. There is an utter magic to this album that struck me when I first heard it 35 years ago, and still strikes me every time I listen. I love it all, but the highlight for me is the ending progression of 'Stone Flower/La Fuente Del Ritmo/Every Step of the Way'. The buildup to and start of the guitar solo in 'Every Step of the Way' is the greatest instance of tension and release I have ever heard in music of any kind. This is Santana's greatest album by a country mile, even as excellent and visionary as some of the others (the first three,'Love Devotion Surrender', 'Welcome', 'Lotus', ' 'Borbeletta', "Moonflower') through the mid-70's are. The 2003 Legacy remaster of this is spectacular, a huge sonic upgrade on previous versions. Great pick. Don't miss this one. What felser said! I love this album.
  5. The problem with Odom on the Lakers is he and Kobe approach the game in too similar a manner to compliment each other. Overrated? Maybe. Not a good fit on the Lakers? More likely. Uh oh, Barry and Ginobili with back-to-back threes. C'mon Suns!
  6. I wonder where my boy Stanislav "Stanley Badabinko" Medvedenko is?
  7. Extended Bruce Bowen Highlight Reel
  8. Kobe and Odom on this year's Lakers were like Miles and Dorham sitting in with a high school band and a few college kids.
  9. It was pretty funny last night, when 'Sheed got his technical foul, he pitched a fit on a play where he clearly dribbled off his own foot.
  10. I've been gone for a few long weekends and all the chat boards made me log back in. Maybe after a certain amount of time, cookies expire to the point where one has to re-register.
  11. Well, the real Pistons finally suited up and the Bulls went quietly. With a few improvements I imagine Chicago will be back in the hunt next year. Detroit will breeze through Jersey or Cleveland, and get a tired opponent in the Finals. The Pistons are sitting pretty.
  12. I'm lucky enough to be able to play all types of music in the office, but I usually try to keep it as universal as possible. I don't overdo it with jazz. One time I played about an hour of Brazilian music and a co-worker asked me, "Dude, what are you doing to us?"
  13. That is what they said, Patrick. I thought Horry just protected himself from a charging Raja Bell...
  14. Time Warner has announced the sale of the Atlanta Braves to Liberty Media.
  15. Clear as mud! Just kidding, it makes sense. That doesn't mean it isn't a stupid rule.

Horrible news. I'm sorry about your friend, 7/4. I hope his killers receive a just punishment. Edited for Epistrophy's comment.
  17. Brutal collapse by the Suns, they had this game in the bag and ran out of gas. Sure could have used Amare and Boris...
  18. Yeah, Simmons nailed it.
  19. Best case Lakers scenario: trade Andrew Bynum + picks for JKidd. Trade Kwame Brown to Kings for Artest. Trade Lamar Odom, Jordan Farmar, Brian Cook, whoever the fuck else it takes for Kevin Garnett. Sign a quality veteran or two looking to compete for the minimum. Throw Smush Parker's bags into the Staples Center parking lot and have him escorted from the premises. Starting lineup features Kobe, Garnett, Artest, and JKidd.
  20. Happy Birthday!
  21. Even if it isn't true, it was a fairly fun read. I enjoyed the part about how he creatively barricaded his room and the remote-controlled car locking system for the sliding door.
