  1. Latimore "There's A Red Neck In The Soul Band" I went out to a club in the ghetto A big crowd of people lined up at the door And I asked someone to tell me what was happening 'Cause I ain't never seen this many folks here before He said, "There's a red neck in the soul band, he's gettin' down." There's a red neck in the soul band, he's gettin' down As I pushed my way through to the inside I could see the stage was not very far On the stage there were five funky musicians One was a tall, skinny white boy playin' guitar There's a red neck in the soul band, he's gettin' down There's a red neck in the soul band, he's gettin' down Go 'head Red! 'Bout that time ol' Red stepped up to the microphone "Now folks, I know some of you probably been wondering about me I wonder about myself sometimes See, when I play this guitar I start wondering I start wondering about my own family tree!" Go 'head Red!
  2. It's definitely somebody polishing somebody's...er, shoes. I don't like the design, too 80s. "2012" is scarcely legible, and not stylishly appealing in any way.
  3. I'm very interested in this topic as I really enjoyed digging up a bunch of songs which Led Zeppelin ripped off. Jake Holmes - Dazed & Confused Bert Jansch - Black Water Side Kansas Joe & Memphis Minnie - When The Levee Breaks Lead Belly & Josh White - In My Time Of Dying Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup - My Mama Don't Allow Me Big Bill Broonzy - Trucking Little Woman Blind Boy Fuller - I Want Some Of Your Pie Blind Willie Johnson - Nobody's Fault But Mine John Lee Hooker - Boogie Chicken Lead Belly - The Gallis Pole Oscar "Buddy" Woods & Black Ace - Lone Wolf Blues Sleepy John Estes - The Girl I Love, She Got Long Curly Hair St. Louis Jimmy Oden - Going Down Slow Kokomo Arnold - Milk Cow Blues Bukka White - Shake 'Em On Down Hambone Willie Newbern - Roll & Tumble Blues There's more which I've yet to find. I've also found tracks which the Stones covered, like Robert Wilkins - That's No Way To Get Along. Awesome song!
  4. Out of stock at Dusty Groove. Figures!
  5. Cubbies put up ten runs in the following game. Maybe Piniella should pitch a shit fit more regularly!
  6. That was one tough young buffalo! The herd didn't quit on it.

    Junior Mance

I dig Junior Mance whenever I hear him, and will pick up some of the recs here. Most recently I've been groovin' to "I Believe To My Soul."
  8. Bowen fouls out every game half way through the third period. Varejao flops his way to limiting Timmy Turtlehead to 20 minutes per game, Duncan erupts in a 'Sheed Wallace technical foul meltdown. Boobie continues to shoot 60% from three point range and Donyell Marshall catches fire from three as well. Tony Parker and Michael Finley each turn an ankle in Game 1 and are out for the series. Cavs win!
  9. It was the only image of a flying fox I could find with a person for scale. Yes, very cute.
  10. Bummer. They're really fascinating critters. I like watching the little ones by my house hunt for bugs around dusk. Imagine this one sneaking in the living room: Don't think he'd fit in your shoe, Jim!
  11. I do, especially in the Eastern Conference.
  12. Congrats to all the Cavs fans, and condolences to Jim A. That's a crazy stat on Tayshaun, Quincy! I never would have expected him to struggle so mightily.
  13. I don't know about dizzy, but Clem sure makes me laugh my azz off.
  14. LeBron is such an incredibly unique talent, and it was so obvious the moment his high school clips began playing on Sportscenter. It's amazing how nature tends to put all of her eggs in one basket, just like with Jordan. LeBron has the most freakish leaping ability combined with physicial strength and natural basketball ability, equal if not exceeding any which has ever been seen. He's like Dominique Wilkins with Iverson skills. When he does pass the ball, he does so with a court vision normally reserved for those who make passing their passion, like Kidd or Nash. Now, he's starting to show a killer instinct wherein he believes he can score regardless of the defense being thrown at him. The guy is just plain frightening. More power to him, he's fun to watch.
  15. The Dodgers had a walk off walk a few games back with a bases loaded HBP. Win's a win! It hurts to be on the losing end of such a play, though. I'm too young to have old-school baseball knowledge, but A-Rod's play does seem a bit chump to me. Then again, there's lots of things that I wouldn't do as a player myself, such as purposely throwing at a batter. Winning cheap isn't my thing.
  16. So there's two perceptions of A-Rod's deception. Was it a crafty, heads-up, old-school play or a dirty, bush-league, cheapskate play? I had the same thought as Quincy, that it's much like a "deak" infielders might try to put on a baserunner.
  17. Those to whom it does matter aren't doing enough listening.
  18. Hope you've got about two months allotted for listening, 7/4!
  19. Nice haul! I won't be buying much of anything for a spell. Hurtin' for $$$!
  20. Glad to watch it. LeBron is coming into his own. His team has no business winning games like this against the Pistons.
  21. The two dunks LeBron had to close the 4th quarter=big time clutch. Wow, Pistons get a whistle with under 5 seconds left.
  22. Many more albums are not great start to finish than ones which are.
