  1. I hate the tendency to not run an offense with time running down. LeBron forced and initiated the contact, that's why he didn't get the call. The refs aren't going to let the game be decided at the free throw line.
  2. I recall being a bit underwhelmed by this one when I got it. I'll have to dust it off and give it another listen with your comments in mind.
  3. This song is awesome! Thanks for bringing it to my attention, MG.
  4. Santana - Dance Of The Rainbow Serpent
  5. Way to go, DC!
  6. Hey MG, I never put together any guesses, but I want to say how much I really enjoyed your selections. This main disc was great start to finish, with the exception that I like the Jimmy Smith original better than the rendition here. The Bonus disc was, well...magnificent! I especially dig the surf guitar-styled track. Thanks again!
  7. No, not the Deluxe edition. Dang it!
  8. Do you have Santana Live at the Fillmore 1968? Great version of Fried Neckbones. I'll add it to my (endless) list, Cary. I've actually only recently bought Abraxas, though I heard it a lot when I was younger. Hearing "Samba Pa Ti" for the first time in years was cool.
  9. Second only to Caravanserai is Soul Sacrifice, for me. The "Santana Jam" is my favorite Santana song. I could listen to that piano theme for hours! Plus his cover of "Fried Neckbones & Some Home Fries" is smokin'. I want to hear some of the other jazz rock albums he did in the wake of Caravanserai, I only have whatever tracks were compiled onto the Dance Of The Rainbow Serpent box.
  10. Out of curiosity Joe, what sports does your triathelete sister participate in? Distance running, cycling, and swimming? I always appreciate stamina, it's such a time-consuming ability to develop.
  11. You know I'm just farting around, Joe. Please don't sick your sister on me!
  12. Yeah, go on and ice skate with your sister! And while you're at it why don't you try on one of her bras, you wee girl! Float away, ya fairey!
  13. Skateboarder here. We hate the fruit-booters.
  14. Watch it on youtube!
  15. Side note: Shrieve's drum solo on "Soul Sacrifice" from the Woodstock show is insane!
  16. An utterly incredible album. I've always counted it as a rock album, thought it does straddle the line, but it's always been a Desert Island Disc for me regardless of classification. There is an utter magic to this album that struck me when I first heard it 35 years ago, and still strikes me every time I listen. I love it all, but the highlight for me is the ending progression of 'Stone Flower/La Fuente Del Ritmo/Every Step of the Way'. The buildup to and start of the guitar solo in 'Every Step of the Way' is the greatest instance of tension and release I have ever heard in music of any kind. This is Santana's greatest album by a country mile, even as excellent and visionary as some of the others (the first three,'Love Devotion Surrender', 'Welcome', 'Lotus', ' 'Borbeletta', "Moonflower') through the mid-70's are. The 2003 Legacy remaster of this is spectacular, a huge sonic upgrade on previous versions. Great pick. Don't miss this one. What felser said! I love this album.
  17. The problem with Odom on the Lakers is he and Kobe approach the game in too similar a manner to compliment each other. Overrated? Maybe. Not a good fit on the Lakers? More likely. Uh oh, Barry and Ginobili with back-to-back threes. C'mon Suns!
  18. I wonder where my boy Stanislav "Stanley Badabinko" Medvedenko is?
  19. Extended Bruce Bowen Highlight Reel
  20. Kobe and Odom on this year's Lakers were like Miles and Dorham sitting in with a high school band and a few college kids.
