This is from Ruppli's Capitol discography (Names & Numbers, 2007) I'm afraid that's probably the best we're gonna get. F

Perhaps major labels still follow an unwritten rule not to poach each other, despite the European copyright law. They do as far as I know. When Universal purchased the Sanctuary Group, the ASV/Living Era label was immediately cancelled for that reason. F

Since EKEBBB seems to be away (are we the only two Spaniards here?) thanks everyone for the good wishes. I'm not too partisan re: football, and I liked Spain two years ago better, but Torres wasn't fit to play (and Cesc has had a poor season too). As for the final, I had the impression that the reasoning was: "the Germans played a clean game, they lost, we should play dirty". The Spanish side did its share of kicking, but really, what's with De Jong? What I liked best is that these guys play very good football (how many people do you need to steal a ball from Iniesta?) and they seem to be a bunch of thoroughly decent guys. I'm not sure about the poor balance of the World Cup overall. There were some good moments, maybe that they came from unlikely teams. F PS There was quite a party in Trafalgar Square last night .

You should try the guys at RaymondScott.com for info. A quick Google gives it as from 1961, which makes sense because Scott stopped using "real" musicians c. 1962. F

PM sent on Duke Ellington (2 CDs) – Duke Ellington And His Famous Orchestra 1941; The Complete Standard Transcriptions (Soundies) $8 F -
I was very saddened by Jones' passing. I met him twice, and he was a gentleman in every way. As a musician, I've always though he was taken for granted. He was "there" for ever and his piano playing seemed an excellent version of a rather standard way of playing, only he was a terrific piano player and maybe he was a main contributor to what we consider standard today (I elaborate on this in my blog anyway). What's becoming even more saddening is the saga in the NYT blog. Last comment I've seen is from Jones' relatives. This is getting unpleasant, and if there's someone who didn't deserve this, that's Hank Jones. F
