Be careful doing that with the dark Kit Kats! Aw, come on... be a player. Everything tastes better microwaved, ya know.

Love the dark Kit Kats. And while we're on the subject of irresistible food items w/absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever other than the way they taste, here's a way to make one better (just for you Rooster..) Pop one of those Moon Pies in the microwave for about 10 seconds. You'll think you've died and gone to heaven.

No, but I found a frog on a hog.

Happy Birthday BERIGAN!! Party Naked....

We don't need Reggie to score more than 10 points a night with so many other key players in double figures. (absolutely because of a great coach who can get the best out of every player). The key is *when* he scores the points, not necessarily *how many* points.

Love the Breyers! I never knew vanilla ice cream could be so good. B-3er are you having "sympathy weight gain"??

Jazzmoose, the resemblance is just eery...

Oops...sorry, I didn't mean for my last post to be confusing: The Pacers got beat by the Cavs; the next game that I'm referring to is the Pacers versus the Kings. I'm a true- blue dyed in the (choose local colloquialism of choice here) Pacers fan. But more than that I'm a great game of basketball fan which I *didn't* get to experience visually today. So I guess an LA fan is gonna pull for the PACERS! (what nickname do you have for us?)
-
Any Cleveland fans out there as ticked off as I am at the network black-out that prevented the Pacers/Cavs game from being televised in either market? I hate that we lost, but listening to it on radio just didn't cut it for me, regardless of the outcome. I wanted to *see* LeBron in action, not hear about it. He had a great game and is the real deal. They certainly are turning things around. Fortunately our next game is Sacramento at home...

Very nice ..... another favorite of mine is Asahi Dry. Me either (partly because it seems like the majority of folks in Indiana call it "Kerrs" and that just bugs me) or the whole "lite" phenomenon. It's beer... it's meant to fill you up and be fattening.

RDK~ Sammy and Dinah are gorgeous!! And your hair is so... um... tidal wave-esque! (I see you around all the time; doesn't your arm ever get tired?)
-
Congratulations! Look at all of that hair! I have a feeling that the women in here who read your initial post had a collective groan when they read how much he weighs. (I know I did!) Your wife is *da man*!

Oh man.... I posted the wrong pic! "Rachel" is my alter ego when I dress in drag. Here's me at the Free Martha Stewart sit in and candlelight vigil... .... it's black tie optional ( notice my fancy hat )

The vinyl vs. CD episode was great. Ray's Mom on the Fruit of the Month Club, ".... it's like some kind of CULT!!"

I've found out (through anecdotal evidence, of course, since I'm no where near that age) that everything goes to hell at 46. Notice this 46 year old specimen... he can't quite figure out that the door is really unlocked but just opens inward... Also notice the drool...

Depends on how nearsighted you are. People who are a higher degree of minus (nearsighted) might have more adjustment difficulty when switching from one pair to the other. You might consider putting your distance Rx in the top and computer distance in the bottom, and doing the "head tilt" thing to see the computer. That way you won't have to stop and change glasses to see at a distance and thereby you would reduce your need for recovery time. Then, if you need to see something at 10 to 14 inches you could take your glasses completely off. Of course, if you're a high myope you would need to hold the material just in front of your face w/o glasses on. Has your optom/ophthal. discussed other glasses options w/you? You should ultimately adjust to the glasses that you have; you've just been accustomed to having the built in ability to see at near and now age is making that more difficult because your natural lens ain't what it used to be. Ain't optics (and aging) fun?

No, Dan, I'm not nuts, as you so eloquently suggest; just throwing out the fact that Erbitux was approved by the FDA for discussion. So why is the stock doing poorly? Doesn't it have the potential to bounce back if it performs well farther along in FDA trials? As for her demeanor, I guess I didn't realize that she was also on trial for being a bitch.

Anybody else going to the Madame Walker Theater for Jimmy Coe's tribute?
-
<<It was determined that there was never insider trading even before the trial began. >> That's what I meant, that even before the trial they decided not to pursue that charge versus the securities fraud charge which was thrown out during the trial. I guess I'm still fuzzy on how one can be guilty of covering up a non crime...
-
I agree that the press just can't quite get it right. There was no fraud or insider trading. The charge that was dropped before going to jury was the securities fraud charge; basically that charge meant that Martha tried to manipulate the value of her stock by proclaiming her innocence.) The judge realized that this was quite a stretch and threw it out several weeks ago. It was determined that there was never insider trading even before the trial began. Incidently, the stock that she sold is probably worth even more now since the FDA has subsequently approved the drug that Imclone was developing, so I don't think that anyone who bought this stock after she sold it is suffering terribly. Since Ms. Stewart only stood to lose a hundred grand or so had she kept the stock and has ended up losing more like 500 mil., I can hardly imagine that she was trying to bilk anyone. So she gave her secretary a cake for her birthday-- big deal; does anyone even discuss or care about what Donald Trump or Jack Welch gives their secretaries?

Sigh..... Thanks for the great review. I certainly missed out (Pacer tix but big deal, no AI or Big Dog last night...) What a great show that must have been. I absolutely love Virtue and her big bad bass playing. And Aletra just rocks. I would have loved to see David Baker *in his element*, so to speak. He is such an engaging, full of life, full of music guy who seems bigger than life to me but, I think Sheldonm is right, is probably very shy. I stalked him a bit at IAJE but was too *shy* myself to start a conversation. I won't make that mistake again. What makes me more thoughtful about missing this show is the sad news about the recent passing of Jimmy Coe. It's just a fact of life that a lot of these greats don't have many years left w/ us, and we need to experience them as much as we can whenever we can...
-
Sheldonm~ No I missed their tribute show! (and I'm sorry I did) I just love them; I'm trying to re-arrange stuff tomorrow to try to catch this one in B'ton as I'm also a huge David Baker fan. BTW, I visited the Indy Jazz Fest webpage-- great photos! Ghost~ Dr. May's presentation touched on what an influence the Attucks' band teacher had on these young musicians and how nurtured they felt there -- The taped interviews were great. I think you'll enjoy speaking w/her about this subject. Please let us know when your project is finished. How's the mini training coming?
-
Ghost~ I saw an excellent Research Presentation at IAJE entitled "The Role of Crispus Attucks High School in the Musical Development of African American Jazz Musicians in Indianapolis in the 1930s and 1940s" presented by Dr. Lissa Fleming May from IU. She did extensive interviewing w/the survivors from that era. I think she would be an excellent source for you. You might already know about her presentation, etc, but I thought I'd offer it up anyway. If you've heard about this presentation, do you have any information as to whether it might be published? Thanks for the heads up regarding the Indiana Revisited concert. I might try to catch it. Love those Hampton Sisters!

I saw Nicholas Payton and Sonic Trance at the IAJE Conference in January. It was a great show, not easy to categorize (kick-butt is a great description), w/elements of hip-hop done very nicely. The show was recorded for release sometime (soon I hope). Here's the website to order. He's great live. Nicholas Payton & Sonic Trance - New York, NY 01/24/2004

Little Stewie rules, daddy-o, and you know it!
rachel replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Love The Family Guy! Stewie and Brian The Dog are my favorites. I love how Stewie describes his birthday as a two-year anniversary of his escape from his mother's cursed ovarian Bastille. According to Brian's bio, he is a third-degree green belt in Tae Kwan Do who likes his martinis very dry and can speak flawless French and sing all four parts of a barbershop quartet simultaneously.... I think this is ranked right up there w/ the Three Stooges. (yes, there are some girls who *get* them)
