Favorite part of the show: Slide saying, "This next song is entitled 'Someday My Prince Will Come', and I'm dedicating it to ........ my big sister, Aletra." As Mark mentioned, she's 88 years old. I guess good men sometimes *are* hard to find... Second favorite part of the show: Watching Virtue watching Slide, her head bobbing and her face beaming...

Here are some pics of Slide Hampton and the Hampton Sisters at the tribute concert in November here in Indianapolis. Unfortunately my meager scanner does not do them justice, but I still wanted to share them w/everyone. These were taken by our own sheldonm; he graciously gave these to me so I could have them signed by Slide and the Sisters last Friday at the Jazz Kitchen. It was a terrific show that was only made better by having signed momentos of these great musicians. Thanks Mark!

Heck, I'm *not* squeamish with eyes (working in Ophthalmology, you should see what I get to see sometimes ) and this creeps me out. I guess it's a case of "give the people what they want.." Amazing what people will do to themselves while paying out of pocket.

Thanks for reminding me that the "Big O" ( ) will be back on "The Apprentice" tonight. I've gone all day thinking today was Wednesday. Love to hate her! I'll admit it; I watch American Idol just about every week, and I belong in the same "what the heck is John Stevens still doing up there, geez this is embarrassing to watch" camp. I agree with Dan that Paula Abdul telling them their singing is a little "pitchy" is just, well, pure comedy. Edited to add: Did anybody see Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live? I thought it was hilarious.
