  1. A short list of my favorite Herbie Mann's recordings: Just Wailin' Flute Flight Flute Souffle Have you listened to any of them???
  2. School days is my favorite out of this batch. It's excellent!!! ← You are right
  3. And what about the album Jazz Kat? What can you tell us about it???
  4. I agree with you that Lovano is a great musician. In 1995 I had the pleasure to see him at the VV. I like many of his recordings but in my humble opinion, These are his best: Trio Fascination - Edition One Flights of Fancy: Trio Fascination, Vol. 2
  5. "Jerusalem beach" in Tel-Aviv, a great place to be on Friday afternoon.
  6. I cant argue with such a strange taste... Tel-Aviv is an amazing city. Please refresh my memory, why you are coming to Tel-Aviv on Friday night??? What can you do in Jerusalem on friday evening? Visit the western wall??? The great cultural atmosphere and the night life, this is the real beauty. There is only one beautiful thing in Jerusalem: The road to Tel-Aviv... Friday night in Tel-Aviv: Jemeel Moondoc:
  7. I have a special weakness to the music of JS Bach: The Well Tempered Clavier, The English Suites and The French Suites. To my ears it sounds better when Glenn Gould is the pianist.
  8. Bentsy, Just You, Just Me is a duet album, Sweets and Hines. Very nice, but not one of the Sweets/Lock. Just Friends and Light and Lovely are the two Sweets/Lock collaborations on Black and Blue. In addition to Jawbreakers which also gets a there is Sonny, Sweets & Jaws on the Who's Who in Jazz label, also a good 'un. ← Thanks Dan.
  9. Dan, I am not familiar with their Black & Blue recordings but I'll definately look for them (Just Friends? Sweets and Jaws? Just You, Just Me? ). Thanks anyway for this recommendation. Regarding the CD I've mentioned, it was recorded and released by Storyville but it is possible that the original release was 2 LPs (Vol 1 & 2).
  10. 84° and sunny in Tel-Aviv.
  11. The great Art Blakey said that music washes away from the soul the dust of every day life. If you are looking for something to wash the dust away, this CD will do a perfect job for you: The more I listen to Harry Sweets Edison, the more I love him and learn to appreciate what a great trumpeter and musician he was. I can say exactly the same words about Eddie Lockjaw Davis. When they play together and Kenny Drew is sitting on pianist's chair, the dust has no chance and I can promise they will wash it away. If you don’t believe me try it and let me know the results. Mainstream jazz at his best. My recommendation is to listen to it with a glass of beer. Now I'm going to get another one....
  12. First Meditations got my vote. One of coltrane's best sessions ever, IMHO.
  13. We can only benefit from the competition.
  14. Happy father's day to all of us.
  15. 311, this morning. Nice number. 311 is really a lot.
  16. The weather in Tel-Aviv and Miami is also the same...
  17. Sorry to disappoint you: I have sent several PMs, and the total number of my posts remained the same…
  18. According to my profile, the total number of my posts is 1199 (this one is the 1200). I am most active in Miscellaneous Music: 437 posts which is 44% of my total posts. 44%????? Strange.... According to my calculation this is ~ 36%. Can somebody from the forum management check this calculation????
  19. You can transfer the balance in one currency into a balance in another currency before making any payments. ← As I said: Every day I learn something…… Thank you Hans.
  20. Every day we learn something…… Here is the solution: My balance is in USD and the transaction I made was in Japanese Yen. If the transaction you are trying to make is not in the same currency as your balance, the money will be drawn from your credit card. If the transaction and the balance are in the same currency, the money will be drawn first from your positive balance. Good to know.
