You have two options: 1. Be patient.. 2. Join the following list: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bt-dimeadozen-org/ and ask there someone seed the show.If all goes well, more than one person start to seed the show and your transfer will resume. You are not alone with this Dan.In one case I had to wait nearly 2 weeks before I got one Jefferson Airplane show downloaded...

I think I posted this before, but you can download several of these programs in mac friendly form. Also, there are several recorders--like total recorder--that will allow you to download all those streaming files on archive. Just DON'T do anything else on your computer while recording. It's just like recording from disk to cassette, only any interference will give you snap, crackle and pop. Of course, my good friend, I keep tantalizing you into personal ruin by downloading and downloading and downloading and downloading. There is currently no cure for this!! Right now, I'm living on dimeadozen downloading art ensemble of chicago gigs. The only question is how one can listen to so much good music and still absorb it all? I CURSE dimeadozen . Every time when I finish some downloads I check if there are any other shows I'd like to download and there are ALWAYS some goodies available. I also keep wondering how in hell I'm able to find enough time to listen to all of them. Right now I have around 30 GD shows ranging from 1967 to 1971.Along with my other goodies my only 160Gb HD is filling up really fast.I should definitely buy some 500Gb HD really soon And I'm glad there is no cure for this!

If you know how to use bittorent check out http://bt.etree.org http://shnflac.net and http://jeromesplace.net/ for LOT'S of GD shows. Most of the shows posted on those sites have excellent sound quality.

About a year til A Scanner Darkly
Swinger replied to jazzbo's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I'm right there with ya Swinger! I have all the novels, SF and otherwise, stories, etc. only lacking. .. "Nick and the Glimmungs". . . and the volumes of letters. I'm saving those for when my ship comes in. I've read all of his books (including his non-sf novels) but I don't own all of them.Someday I will have all of them. That's for sure. -

The movie has already got some really good user ratings at imdb.com . (7.7/10). I'm definitely going to watch this movie sooner or later! I'm probably one of the biggest PKD nuts on this planet (or so it seems) -

I didn't have luck for about a week (trying once or twice a day) until one night I just kept trying to register every 3 to 5 minutes. Within half an hour I got in. Cross your fingers and maybe the same trick will work for you. Well I finally made it and got myself registered at dimeadozen. It has some REALLY good shows for download!

Nice equipment! How many vinyls do you have? Looks like somewhere around 2500-3000...

Thanks. Sugarmegas surely has A LOT of shows, not only Grateful Dead gigs but also some pretty good sounding Jefferson Airplane,Joni Mitchell gigs as well. I found another way to record those gigs.I just recorded Joni Mitchell's 1965-1966 gig with Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It's too bad that I get the following error message at dimedozen.org over and over again: We are very sorry! At the moment, there are at least 93,500 registered users at www.dimeadozen.org, the maximum allowed under DIME's current configuration. I just have to try registering myself every day. It's going to happen sooner or later.

Thank you very much! I use Bit torrent almost every day. Right now I'm downloading Miles Davis The Lost Quintet tree at shnflac.net . At the current transfer rate it takes "only" 5 days to download the whole packet.

Oh Damn... I was ready to download some new shows at www.archive.org but they are only available as streams or crappy variable bit MP3s... .It's been a while since I've been trying to download new shows and this really came as a surprise. www.gdlive.com is also dead I found another good place to download GD shows. shnflac.net Really good site.

It's difficult to be famous and anonymous at the same time The names are available on Wikipedia anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lordi The page had to be locked because of "vandalism". As with most other past Eurovision winners, the descent back into anonymity will not take very long ... You have good point there. The magazine (it's not a newspaper in any way, I must correct this one) that printed his face on the cover of the magazine is called Seiska. It's a Finnish equivalent to British "The Sun"---> Lot's of pictures and "sensational, scandalous" news. And you are right are descenting back into anonymity...who really remembers some Eurovision winners in the long run unless they've been exceptionally different than the other competitors? Btw. Do you have any trashy magazines in Luxembourg?

National holiday then? No Lordi has been covered quite a lot in Finnish newspapers in the past few days. Most people can't still believe that we won and even though there are people who don't like his music, they are truly happy that one of our "national trauma" has been lifted Something about this true identity and remaining anonymous... Not all respect Lordi's wish to remain anonymous. He has stated in many interviews that he will not remove his mask just to please the press. One newspaper has already published his real face and his fans are furious. Now what this tells about newspapers? Some newspapers are ready to do anything to increase their sales... Now they are trying to decide where the next Eurovisions should take place.Helsinki seems to be the only place where they can accomodate all the bands, tourists and press .Surely Rovaniemi would be a exotic place but they don't have any capacity to book all the bands etc..

I listened to some sound samples at amazon.com for Solo Session (I don't remember was it Vol 1 or 2) but I liked it A LOT.I guess I'll try to find those two here in Finland and then I'll try Alone and Conversations/Further Conversations with Myself.

*RIP* Val Guest - classic sci-fi film writer/director
Swinger replied to Shawn's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Rip! It must have been somewhere around 15-16 years as well in my case since I've seen "The Quatermass Xperiment".It's truly one of the better sci-fi movies made during the cold war years. -
Can you guys tell me where to start with his solo piano cds? I have his Village Vanguard cds,Portrait In Jazz,Moon Beams but no solo cds so far.

Finland won! YES! At last. We've waited for 40 years and finally we won!
