Oh how I'd like to hear this one. It's on my endless "cds to be purchased sooner or later" - list.

Has anyone else been trying to contact the owner the website? I ordered 4 cds from them nearly a month ago and my uncle is the one who should have got their email regarding the link to the site where the payment should be done but he hasn't received any email from them in the past 30 days. I've emailed them (moonlighrecords@moonlightrecords.com) several times and haven't got any replies so far. Are they out of business or do they filter my emails as spam? I can recommend their shop since they have excellent selection and so far the lowest shipping rates in Europe that I've encountered but now there is definitely something wrong...

I bought the cd mentioned above a couple of days ago and I like it very much. It’s a very trippy Stuff, reminding me of those first two Pink Floyd albums in some ways but yet it’s hard to compare the album to anyone else’s production. What made to purchase the album was a conversation with my father recently. He had the album in the early 70s but he sold it in the early 80s when he wanted to get rid off some of his vinyls. He has regretted selling A Time Before This very much. He remembered the title of the album recently and I began to search to album on the Internet and I finally found the album here in Finland and bought it. Glorious music. I can recommend it to anyone who liked (likes) Soft Machine, early King Crimson material, Nice, ELP and countless other examples.

I bought the cd yesterday and played it twice through. It's a really accessible album and there is nothing wrong with the songs...except one thing: Those synthesizers runs sound so corny and 80s

The cd mentioned above is available at local record store as an used copy for only 5 Euros.I don't know much about Giuffre. I do have his album Free Fall and I like it very much. Anyway...Is the cd worth buying?

It's quite warm around here right now.Believe me! Joe probably won't have to wear any fur coat on stage Since I'm going to be one of the volunteer workers at the festival where Joe is going to play, I'm going to try to get his autograph. Other highlights of the festival are: Matthew Shipp, Louis Sclavis ;)

I'm going to see Joe Mcphee on Friday and Saturday :) I've listened to some sound samples of Oleo and his early albums (LOVE 'EM!) and hopefully they are going to sell some of those OOP discs at the concert area.

Can you guys tell me where I could get that Flexible Flyer? I've listened to its sound samples at amazon.com and it sounds FANTASTIC!

Sad news indeed! He was definitely one of my favorite artists.I'm going to miss him very much! I'm going to play his Dreher set with Mal Waldron tonight.Especially the track "The Seagulls of Kristiansund". What a track and Steve's playing on this track is utterly beautiful.

Jazz tunes that should be played insanely LOUD
Swinger replied to Big Al's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Steve Lacy: School Days Especially the track 2 "Brilliant Corners". I always crank up the volume up to rather unbearable level when I'm listening to that track. Chick Corea's Spain and some other tracks are always make me to turn up the volume level... Oh...how did I forget... All those Dolphy's Five Spot albums. Listening to The Prophet at low volume level is crime -
Steve Lacy: 4 x Monk 4 x Lacy My favorite Lacy solo performance so far.

Matthew Shipp pre-Thirsty sides?
Swinger replied to Man with the Golden Arm's topic in Recommendations
It's good to read about nice Matthew Ship cds. I'm going to see him live in July with Joe McPhee.I'm also going to attend one of his solo concerts as well. -
Juju. There is something irresistable about it.

Are there any significant sonical improvements in the 2002 reissue of In A Silent Way compared to early 1990s release? I'm just wondering should I upgrade my old cd or not...

European board members only! I don't want to mess around with taxes. I have "Beauty Is A Rare Thing" already but a friend of mine would like to have the box set as well. He'd like to buy it as a used copy and he would be willing to pay 40-45 Euros of it+shipping (I guess it'd be around 6-10 euros to ship this item with standard surface/economy mail). If you live in Europe and have a spare of copy of this set and would be willing to sell it then send me PM. I can't pay you via Paypal. BIC+IBAN money transaction is the only way I can pay to you.

Her trio album "Etudes" with Charlie Haden and Paul Motian is a really good one. They play a gorgeous version of Lonely Woman.

I could recommend another one: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&u...l=A12de4j270wal A really good session with Finnish musicians.

I could also comment about those 2003 remastered editions. I have all JA cds up to Volunteer expect Crown Of Creation that I bought recently. I have listened to Crown Of Creation several years ago but it didn't sound anything like the new remastered edition. Pick any track and you HEAR improvement. My other JA cds are the ones made in the 80s.They sound ok but on the other hand I could replace my copy of After Bathing At Baxter's with the latest copy.My copy sounds really "muddy" Baxter is my favorite JA album. So psychedelic and so powerful.

Brownie: David Ware 'Godspelized' (DIW) Congratulations for finding this gem. It's a wonderful album. My favorite Ware album right after Fligh Of I.

Right now, who offers the best price on imports?
Swinger replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Discography
phillyq: Shipping costs $8 from Japan to USA for 3 discs? Not bad at all! I usually have to pay around $9.00 (Global Priority Mail) to order more than 1 cd from USA.
