Today I got all excited when I found a download in Russia for Cannonball and Sergio Mendes and the Bossa Rio Trio. I have the album "Cannonball's Bossa Nova" but had forgotten that Sergio & the Bossa Rio trio were on this album and a little research in "Google" discovered that it was one and the same. What was interesting was the number of covers this album has. I'll post as many as I can on this post and if they don't all fit I'll continue them on the next post.

Just spotted this Bunky thread. Here's my one Bunky album.

Just today I got a wonderful copy of an old Famous Door album, "In The Swing Of Things" with Ross Tompkins and Bob Cooper. I did get a copy of the (back of the album) liner notes but not the cover. If anyone has this album I would be grateful for a jpeg of the cover. By the way, if you are a Ross Tomkins fan, he has three other Famous Door albums that I would love to get a copy of. They are "Street Of Dreams", "Symphony" and "LA After Dark". If you should have any of these and would be interested in a trade I have a huge list of jazz, salsa and bossa nova CDs (over 6,000) for you to select from and can transmit the list via excel.

Thank you for the Getz-Trane. Just great. Sound quality is pretty good. -
Back some time ago there was a thread about headphones for walkman players. I actually took the advice of one of the writers and bought the ones he recommended. Was very happy with them. That pair finally died on me and I had to switch back temporarily to ear buds, which I don't like. Can you guys give me some recommendations? Criteria is headphones and not ear buds. Price not to exceed $50.00. I use them every day when I go to the gym.

Thanks for the heads-up on Dudley at "e". I'm a subscriber and I did'nt spot this. Here's some of the scoop on the material on the three CD downloads, each one of which is a composite. There are all but one of the tracks to the complete "Dudley Down Under" and many of the tracks of "Genuine Dud". Best of all are 4 tracks from 'Bedazzled" which according to the "word" commands top dollars in its LP format. THE OTHER SIDE OF DUDLEY MOORE "My Blue Heaven", "Lysie Does It", "Poova Nova", "Take Your Time", "Indiana", "Sooz Blooz", "Baubles, Bangles And Beads", "Sad One For George", "Autumn Leaves". The first British album released by the Dudley Moore Trio sets the scene for the majority of the other albums to come - mixing Dudley's love of jazz pianists such as Oscar Peterson with his classical music scholarship. Whilst versions of jazz standards such as "My Blue Heaven" and "Baubles, Bangles And Beads" only really scratch the surface of Dud's musical ability, it is the original compositions on this album that take full honours. Check out the bright and breezy "Lysie Does It", the sophisticated Brazilian bossa vibe of "Poova Nova" and the imaginative "Sooz Blooz" to fully understand that Dudley's musical talents stretched far beyond his place in the spotlight in the mid 1960's as a light entertainment performer. GENUINE DUD “Samantha”, “Yesterdays”, “Field Day For Shirley”, “Straight Life”, “Exactly Like You”, “If You Were The Only Girl In The World”, “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”, “Blues For Boots”, “Fly Me To The Moon”. BEDAZZLED “Main Title”, “Moon Time”, “Strip Club”, “Italy”, “The Leaping Nun’s Chorus”, “G.P.O Tower”, “Love Me”, “Bedazzled”, “Millionaire”, “Sweet Mouth”, “Cornfield”, “Goodbye George”, “Lillian Lust”. DUDLEY The pick of the album is the legendary jazz-dance of "Amalgam", formed from a toe-tapping mix of Karan's shuffling, yet tight, drums, a pacey double bass from the newly installed bass-player Jeff Clyne and topped with a slow piano melody from Moore. A great track (and album) that has won many plaudits over the years.“Fanfare”, “120 Plus Optional Magic Exploding Cadence”, “Chimes”, “Love Song From An Imaginary Musical”, “Bag Of Chris”, “Pop And Circumstance”, “Romantic Notion”, “Folk Song”, “Amalgam”, “Nursery Rhyme”, “Hymn”. BEYOND THE FRINGE “I Love Paris”, “Theme From Beyond The Fringe”, “What’s New”, “I Get A Kick Out Of You”, “Just In Time”, “Chicago”, “I Didn't Know What Time It Was”, "Just One Of Those Things”. THE WORLD OF DUDLEY MOORE This album is an exact reissue of the 1965 “The Other Side Of Dudley Moore” album. THE WORLD OF DUDLEY MOORE VOL. 2 This album is an exact reissue of the 1965 “The Other Side Of Dudley Moore” album. THE DUDLEY MOORE TRIO TODAY Pick of the tracks in V.V's opinion is the cover of the Bacharach and David's classic "The Look Of Love" “The More I See You”, “Waterloo”, “Before Love Went Out Of Style”, “The Look Of Love”, “Song For Suzy”, “Two For The Road”, “Robyn’s Blues”, “The Staircase”. “Dudley Down Under” (Cube Records, 1978) Pick of the arrangements is the take on "Tricotism", on which the solos are both pacey and right on cue. To contrast this, "Autumn In New York" is played in a soft, reflective and, some would describe as quite sad, mood. Fortunately, the album concludes with a little of Dudley's humour creeping through with the inclusion of the groovy pop tune "Song For Suzy" and the encore of Rodgers and Hart's "Lover". “Love Walked In”, “Here’s That Rainy Day”, “Prelude – Georgia”, “The Young Prince And The Young Princess”, “Tricotism”, “Autumn In New York”, “Song For Suzy”, “Lover”.

Marilyn Moore was at one time Al Cohn's wife. Her Bethlehem album, "Moody Marilyn Moore" is a winner.

Does anyone know anything about the release "MJQ Live At The Theatre Royal, Bath". This was supposed to be a BBC release of a few years ago and seems to have never been released.
