  1. Great record! That makes at least three of us here who have a copy - you, Larry K., and myself. Yeah, finally nabbed a sealed one on continued recommendations from you two. Excellent album. Now: Prince Lasha - Insight - (CBS UK, mono)
  2. Al Francis, John Neves, Joe Hunt - Jazz Bohemia Revisited - (Lost Cosmic Unity)
  3. We were facebook friends (think he left FB). I knew he was having some personal problems so he may be dealing with that. I wish him well.
  4. Takehiro Honda & Gerd Dudek Quartet - Flying to the Sky - (Trio, JP)
  5. I am told that Noah Howard apparently thought of his ESP records as "juvenilia" but I have to say the quartet with Ric Colbeck, Scotty Holt and Dave Grant was pretty damn fine. ESP 1031 is an ESP-Disk' that I come back to often.

  6. Yeah, down in Brooklyn I saw the temp register at 96. Oof.
  7. Krzysztof Komeda - Astigmatic - (Muza)
  8. As a librarian, I know that donated collections, especially of recordings, to public libraries are often weeded and sold at fundraisers - this is very common.
  9. Robbie Basho - The Grail and the Lotus - (Takoma)
  10. Don Cherry - Blue Lake - (BYG, Japan)
  11. A good one, with Derek Bailey in the band - and not available in full on CD. Part of it is on the CD reissue of Saxophone Special, but I think that's all that's out there on CD. The Bailey/Stevens track is also on Fairly Early With Postscripts.
  12. That would've been something.
  13. More than likely a library would actually sell that material, though of course public libraries need all the money they can get.
  14. In my estimation, Third Eye was comparable to the Brown Taste trio (Huydts/Haurand/de Ruiter) with added blokes. Brown Taste is really cool. Wouldn't be surprised if Sonorama reissued that as well.
  15. I thought it was spread out over a couple different CDs, but I could be wrong. Now: The Pentangle - s/t- (Reprise, CAN)
  16. Steve Lacy - The Crust - (Emanem, UK)
  17. Need to get that Walter Strerath reish; I have the Inge Brandenburg and it's quite enjoyable. Would like to pick up that Dee Dee, Barry & The Movements as well, and the forthcoming Attila Zoller. Ah I didn't know they did Sax Appeal... I was definitely taken aback and thought tomatamot had the original!
  18. Benny Bailey - How Deep Can You Go? - (Harvest, SWE)
  19. Georges Arvanitas Quintet - Soul Jazz - (Columbia/Sawano JP) RIP Bernard Vitet.
  20. Oh No!!! What a shame. La Guêpe is a great album.
  21. I generally hate new vinyl. That Full Moon LP has been on my wants list for well over a decade. How's Speed Limit? That's a Jef Seffer thing, right?
  22. I think you are correct. What did Brownie have, something like 40,000?
  23. Yeah, Sound Pool is kind of ridiculous. I'm a big fan of Friday but alas only have it on CD. Leave the City was actually an unauthorized use of the MEV name, apparently, as it was a French offshoot led by Ivan Coaquette (who had collaborated with MEV in Rome). It's a cool psych/drone record, though. Finally pulled a copy of the Horo (I used to say "never more than $50 for a Horo" - had to finally pay the piper) but it's yet to arrive.
