  1. I'd like to hear that one but yeah, it usually goes for a lot (mostly around a grand though I did see one at near 3x that). If the reissue is around $30, as HMV has it listed, it'd be a fair price.
  2. I'm not sure... birth name Ron DeVaughn.
  3. Thanks. I heard from a friend of Yusef Mumin (Joe Phillips), so I assume it's true though he didn't have an exact death date.
  4. Bump: I heard that Mr. Wadud had recently died, but cannot find confirmation on the web. Hope it isn't so, but if it is, sad to know that another great one has passed on. RIP.
  5. He must have been a lurker for a significant amount of that time, though.
  6. New Orleans Jazz at the Kitty Halls - (Arhoolie)
  7. Never cared for Wilco myself, but I do like me some Nels Cline. The Acoustic Guitar Trio material is fabulous.
  8. I just left my belt on 45 because I was spinning 45s last night. No TT issues; rather brain issues.
  9. The Individualism of Gil Evans - (Verve, stereo) Whoops, sounds incredibly crime-jazzy on 45.
  10. Well, I was plugging it for him - it's definitely a notable CD!
  11. [insert plug for the Hawkins/Lash/Eisenstadt/Bynum Convergence Quartet CD here, on FMR - it's a fine one!]
  12. I love Irene, but I think the record with Geri is better.
  13. Mal Waldron does a nice "Eleanor Rigby."
  14. Well, these are all coming down the pipeline as individual reissues, or so it seems.
  15. Love the advertisement!
  16. It is great. I have it and the individual LPs.
  17. X-75 is a fantastic record - further related material would be pretty cool.
  18. I really like Canada Day. Glad you dug the interview!
  19. Wow, wish I had been in the neighborhood. I've seen him in a few different settings, some mind-melting and others just "decent." Never unloaded any of his CDs/LPs, even if he's one I don't listen to "constantly."
  20. Check it out here. I don't know if it's appropriate for authors of online material to be pinning their work here, so please let me know otherwise and I'll stop.
  21. Knowing Gilles' tastes, it will be interesting with a lot of very scarce cover images. Whether the writing will be any good...
  22. Reverend Boudreaux was the part-time pastor of the local Cajun Baptist Church and Pastor Thibodaux was the minister of the Covenant Church across the road. They were both standing by the road, pounding a sign into the ground, that read: Da End be Near Turn Yo Sef 'Roun Now Afore It Be Too Late! As a car sped past them, the driver leaned out his window and yelled, 'You religious nuts!' From the curve they heard screeching tires, and a big splash. Boudreaux turns to Thibodaux and asks, 'Do ya tink maybe da sign should jus say.....'Bridge Out?
  23. Now: Jackie Mc - Consequence - (BN)
