  1. Well you gotta be careful on f'book and twitter as well - I've certainly cleaned up my act there after becoming "friends" with people from work and other professional organizations.
  2. That seems expensive for that title. I have God Be In Us and a couple of others... somewhere... Didn't mean to be heavy handed about the Eyges records on M.U. Just too sloppy/lazy for me, especially considering the Chiaroscuro LP with Whitecage and Boykins was real nice.
  3. Cafe Montmartre? Bummer ! Yup. Now, Gary Foster - Subconsciously - (Revelation) w/ Fischer, Budimir and sundry others.
  4. Dennis Budimir - Alone Together - (Revelation)
  5. Pere Ubu - New Picnic Time - (Chrysalis UK) Re: the grading thing, imagine getting an "EX" of Cecil's Debut in the mail and have a long scratch across one side. Back it goes...
  6. Point taken, but it was just a suggestion.
  7. I say shut the board down for a little while until Jim figures out how to revamp it.
  8. I think there are too many people using the name "Cliff" on this board. I get confused.
  9. I don't think there is anything wrong with occasional lapses into juvenilia - we're human. It's when that juvenile behavior is hurtful and negative that problems arise.
  10. I think it was about a year ago that some similar stuff went down and more moderators were brought in. But it doesn't seem like the moderation has increased in scope. Which makes sense, I guess, because it's not a job that most of us in the posting community want to do. Hopefully increased moderation will calm things down a bit but certainly a name change might be worth looking into. I mean, this is a great resource though I admit I'd get a hell of a lot more done if it were unavailable...
  11. I'd go with Orgasmatron but I'm afraid Woody Allen is a bit litigious these days. Should be - American Apparel is a terrible company.
  12. Maybe the Orgasmo jazz forums? (sorry, had to go there)
  13. Gerry Teekens got my copy for mucho bucks. Never seen that one in LP form. Must be rare as hen's teeth.
  14. I know I've been guilty of the "boys' locker room" mentality from time to time and am trying to clean that up. I think the Getz thread, whatever bullshit might have been part & parcel from the get-go, escalated far beyond that once Sivma and Bev got into it. Sorry Bev, all due respect for your stance, but you were there when the pot got stirred. Clearly you've got some great stories and opinions formulated as a result of those experiences and I hope you stick around, too. But I'm not going to say that calling people out left & right won't raise some hackles - even if you were "there." And neveronfriday, sorry to see you go, but your comments in this thread are a bit oblique. Really.
  15. I'd like to know more about the European gigs that fell through as a result of board antics. I know it's not really "my business," but it would help put some of this in perspective.
  16. Oh, now the Allen Lowe is leaving thread is gone, too? Sheesh... people be gettin' unruly!
  17. Groundhogs (the band). The thing with improvised music, however, is that I can get a continual rediscovery of music that I thought I was familiar with. I don't get that feeling nearly as much with rock music - once I know it, I usually feel like I know it. YMMV.
  18. Here's a little more info about the Humanization 4tet, from Austin's COTFG:
  19. MVP LSD - Joe Morris, Jon Voigt, and Tom Plsek play the Graphic Scores of Lowell Skinner Davidson (Riti) Rob Mazurek - Sound Is (Delmark) Paul Giallorenzo - Go In to Get Out (482 Music) Phil Hey & Kelly Rossum - Conflict! (forthcoming on 612-Sides) Halvorson/Radding/Wooley - Crackleknob (Hatology) The Nu Band - Lower East Side Blues (Porter) I think Bill Dixon's 2 CD/1 DVD set for Firehouse12 is gonna be a hell of a set. Should be out in September. Just reviewed Rocco John's new one on COCA for Bagatellen, which is quite nice "free bop", and a cool little one by drummer Vinnie Sperrazza for Fresh Sound New Talent (for AAJ). And don't even get me started on the reissues and unearthed gems!
  20. 49 posts in and that's a very well-thought series of statements. The kind we need more of on the board. For me, I am sorry that the thread died though it was getting a little hard to read.
  21. Could be the General's old copy "Wilkinson?" Where did I come up with that creative spelling... sheesh.
  22. Alfred Harth - 4. Januar 1970 - (no label) Great '70 quintet w/ Nicole Van Den Plas, Peter Stock, Franz Volhard, Tomas Cremer.
  23. Happy Birthday, Chuck! Thanks for all the knowledge you've so graciously imparted to us at the board. I've learned a TON.
  24. Elton Dean's Ninesense - Oh! For the Edge - (Ogun)
