  1. John Fahey - Days Have Gone By - (Takoma black label orig) Good to be back in business with the bulk of my records again.
  2. V/A - Give Me Love: Songs of the Brokenhearted, Baghdad 1925-1929 - (Honest Jon's)
  3. $40 for the Colbeck, not the Dolphy... Edit to add: a great little record, the Colbeck, but far fewer give a shit about it than Eric and Erik.
  4. I dunno... it's definitely dubious. Why wouldn't you want the box and book? It's not even that expensive of a set in the first place, priceless considering the music.
  5. Shit. You're right. I know I have some Radulescu somewhere, though.
  6. Lane is often reliably solid though I found this one uninteresting myself. I really enjoy the new CF trio he's on with Mark Whitecage and Lou Grassi, and the CIMP recordings with Vijay Anderson and Vinny Golia are also nice. Also the orchestra New Magical Kingdom (CF) and in the Mat Marucci/Markus Berger Ensemble (Cadence Jazz). Saw him live in the band he had with John Tchicai, Barry Altschul and Paul Smoker - excellent, as is their CIMP disc, Four Beings. Guess that about covers it...
  7. I'm mostly familiar with the works he did in collaboration with Fernando Grillo. Nice!
  8. I've got two pair of Bill Dixon glasses... what more could I need?
  9. I think Mosaic should next issue a facsimile version of the Mocqui sweater Don was wearing on the cover of Symphony for Improvisers. Very hip with those houndstooth slacks!
  10. I'm worried that Horatiu Radulescu is no longer with us. Who will we go to for obnoxious, massive solo bass music?
  11. Keeping an eye out for the orig DelmaR of the first Sullivan. Anybody got an extra copy?
  12. Tried to nab the Cecil but my snipe was a few dollars too short. There is another one up there however.
  13. Got my set today. Looks really nice though a few of the photos, from Bill Smith's archive, are a little fuzzy in quality. What friggin' moron is posting the discs on eBay without a box or book?!?
  14. Paid $40 for mine about eight years ago. This seems higher than usual: Dolphy on Debut
  15. I have nice LP copies of both and though it's been a while, I remember thinking they were nice records, charmingly ragged.
  16. Post count envy? Most of that happened years ago...apparently some people need more of a life than I do. edit: When you mention "Microtonalist", it sounds like you're not referring to Clem, but to that bitter, unhappy clique of folks who hate music. I see NPR is going to help them become popular with the impressionable youth of today... I feel you - was just joshin'.

  18. It's how you become "Super Bad." Or a Microtonalist for that matter!
  19. Rava's on trumpet. Tommaso is a bassist.
  20. Anybody heard this Konitz LP?
  21. Unless the takes on this acetate are very different from the commercial issue, I don't understand the point of buying this. Guess I'm not a real "collector" then...
  22. Wow, looks like a great evening of music. Thanks for posting these, Michael.
  23. Dig the Kenneth Noland paintings on the covers. I heard the 1st disc, wasn't too impressed at the time (Mehldau) but would be into checking it out again.
