  1. Do you still own the pair? Now THAT would be hip (and collectible!)...
  2. I agree. Though some may lament that he isn't who he was in 1962 or 1970, who really is?
  3. I got mine for free years ago for helping a friend move his flat.
  4. Sabir Mateen, Matthew Heyner, David Nuss - Light Comes from the Front - Sound@One
  5. Yeah, haven't talked to Antoine in a while. And this... this again seems like a slap in the face of a "recession economy." Peckin' Time
  6. The superimposition really makes the case.
  7. I sweat getting $20 records in the post!
  8. Rumors are that a copy of this one sold for 12000 $ years ago at Paris Jazz Corner. True or false i don't know. I've seen another copy auctionned at PJC in their 2002 catalogue. Don't know how much it solds eventuelly. But given the hysteria that was surrounding those auctions i believe it went up very high. My plan is to try to find it at my local flea market, for around 1 €. 2 or even 3 would still be a fine price. Shit, that's nuts. I used to get those PJC catalogs but I guess they stopped producing them?
  9. Yeah, I have that on CD. It's real fine. Much rarer than any BN!
  10. Atomic is on a roll as usual, and this is perhaps MORE obnoxious... Acid Test
  11. I don't know whether it's going to Japan or the EU, but either way, shit's expensive! Parlan US 3
  12. iTunes or eMusic? I don't know as I don't download, but people around here who do seem to have some luck with it. But why not listen to it on a real stereo from a "real" medium?
  13. Yeah, I'll try to remember to pick that one up. I'm hit or miss on most Qbico releases, enough to cease paying attention, but sometimes a corker comes out.
  14. I have no idea. I haven't taken the "chance."
  15. Not so. Recorded with Cecil Payne and Clifford Jordan for Strata-East in the nascent days of that label. Austin's own left quite a legacy!
  16. Nope. Saw it on a list for $100 once and passed. Never saw it again!
  17. Faruq Z. Bey + Northwoods Improvisers - Infa'a - (Qbico)
  18. Anybody heard the Newton LP on Flute Music from the '70s?
  19. Wonder if any of those writers have a good recipe for using SPAM?
  20. Well... Jay, you seem like a pretty nice guy. However, I'll note this: that only one of the women I've dated has not liked jazz. Few of them knew anything about it or were interested in it before getting to know me. So I think that working on a way to communicate/share your interests with a prospective partner is a good thing. You and I spoken through email before, so I know you have diverse scholastic interests that you seem to be applying to jazz (or v.v.). Surely you can meet a woman in the Bay Area who digs interesting music, scholarship, independence and YOU.
  21. Any takers for the last of it?
  22. My girlfriend loves jazz and I live with her. You need to find yo'sef a new lady; I mean, you DO live in the Bay Area, it can't be that hard...
  23. Weird-ass record and a hilarious cover image. Goya's Jupiter on sax!! Still, my favorite Lancaster LP is the Dogtown... 'nuff said!
  24. Judging by the label, not an original. I believe the first had a circular Delmark logo. That is what I have. Chuck has been over this before, though, and I forgot his answer...
