Robert Wood - Tarot - (Edici)
Wood is an obscure vibraphonist who also recorded with Alan Silva. He's joined here by Steve Potts, Kent Carter and on drums, Ron Pittner. Pretty cool little record.
How long is this sale going on?
I'd like to buy all four volumes in December, once I have some bread to throw around with my big breasts (sshh, don't tell anyone)...
Though I haven't spun his recent recordings, I can say that LIVE he is on excellent form these days.
If Zaki is anything like Clarity or the Black Saint and IAI collaborations (w/ Michael Gregory), it's safe to assume it's very good.
The sound isn't that bad - never had any problems myself.
I have The Living Music on an FMP LP and it sounds just fine. Wish Corbett would've paired it with the complete rehearsal tape that adds Derek Bailey to the mix!
I've been a little slow to pick up some of his recent CDs on Intakt, but they're on my Christmas list.
Didn't realise K.B. Blues was part of that twofer CD. Will have to keep that in mind... I'm not a Burrell "nut" but find him often enjoyable and the lineup for that set looks like it could do no wrong. I really love Doug Watkins.
