The only Gaslini I have is Nuovi Sentimenti, from '66, with Barbieri, Lacy, Cherry, Rava, Kent Carter, J-F Jenny Clark, Giani Bedori, Franco Tonani and Aldo Romano. It's a motherfucker, but I've always thought it sounded a little like Mantler or Carla Bley (which would make sense, given the period and some of the personnel). Africa! is on my list as well ...dunno if anyone here has heard it.

Right, and Cardew's famous book is "Stockhausen Serves Imperialism." Even seemingly "free" composers like Kagel are known to push the sounds around quite a bit...

Even before I was into jazz, I listened to my dad's Stockhausen, Nono, Kagel and Cage LPs. He was certainly a formative influence, despite revising my opinions of his work in recent years. RIP, and thank you.

Pretty freakin' out. I have these on LP - fantastic music, some of the heaviest Brotz recorded in a small-group format.
