But it wasn't that long ago that the Rocky Boyd was a $50 record... and I've seen the Booker Little on Time crack $300 on a couple of occasions, when it too used to be $40-$50 (and probably should still be). So I think the prices are pretty high - but I agree that BNs are the highest, despite the fact that they're not all the "best" in the hardbop genre.

Absolutely! I have both - Lp and Cd - but there's no question about it. Cd has an awful sound. I'm still holding out for an original Polydor of this one - let me know if you see it! Yeah, the CD sound blows, and I thought even the Arista-Freedom LP was muddy as all hell.

I need to get that Quintet record on Survival. Heard a couple of tracks that kicked ass, in a very weird and shambling way as you describe. The duo with Leroy Jenkins is indeed a very good side. Haven't spun it in a long time, though.

I've gone through a lot of these records and frequently find myself preferring Randall Colbourne. That said, this is an excellent session and anyone into sax-drums duos should certainly give it a spin. As a duo, they've released what, four albums in the past year alone?
