  1. Happy New Year and good listening !
  2. Fair enough ! First vinyl play of the year - Joe Harriott 'Movement' (UK Columbia mono). A different listening experience to the fine Dutton Vocalion stereo CD. Bass more prominent. Love the way that side 1 finishes of with the neo-calypso 'Revival'. Perfect !
  3. Ted Heathcliffe Emily Bronte
  4. This one has been entertaining. 'Only in Toronto..'
  5. Followed by another Aussie World Record Club originally issued on UK Columbia - Laurie Johnson 'Synthesis'
  6. C. Everett Koop Chris Evert Roger Ebert
  7. You were lucky - when I came back through the other day on the 'other' passport they wanted to give me a 6 month visa !
  8. Neil Ardley 'Greek Variations' (Australian World Record Club). Never knew this obscure variant existed until I saw a copy. Sonics are pretty well comparable, I think, to the UK Columbia version. Ian Carr's tone, in particular, comes through very nicely.
  9. Simon Dee Dave Dee Dozy
  10. Woody Shaw Complete Muse - CD5 'Iron Man' session
  11. All the Best !
  12. Mosaic Select 'Pendulum' CDs 1 to 3
  13. Something between rain/sleet/snow coming down here. In the family we call this "Glossop weather" as we would go the few miles to that higher place to find snow for sledging when my daughters were little. Trouble was the younger one would ask to go to Glossop in May or June as if the winter wonderland was permanent there. No snow or sleet down here. Very windy and wet though - and cold. This transition from Summer to Winter for me will be a challenge..
  14. Sorry to hear this - RIP. I have CDs for several of his 50s Verve albums stacked up ready to play. A great album.
  15. Thanks for the information on the Touchcopy software. Will give it a go, have been looking for something to rebuild my iTunes library for a while.
  16. Ian Carr and Nucleus+ 'Labyrinth' (UK Vertigo spaceship label). Another nice Antipodean find.
  17. Really enjoyed the visits there years ago - in particular the Lawren Harris's. Nice location too..
  18. Tell Sid Sid Viscious Sid Snott
  19. It is a really nice set. I'll be giving it a spin or 3 over this Yule break..
  20. Very best wishes to all !
  21. Yet more bl**dy dressmaking !
  22. Francy Boland 'Fellini 712' (French MPS) Fats Sadi 'Ensadinado' (Saba, stereo)
  23. Have a good one !
  24. Really excellent time, thanks and no hitches. Thanks again for the pass ! I would have a hard time walking to Shinjuku without popping in every time to Disk Union..
