Yes, most definitely. Sonically, although more than acceptable, this isn't the greatest recording quality (John Taylor's 'Pause & Think Again' for Turtle Records is similar, in that regard).
Here's that hint: check recent posts in ****The Return of the Film Corner****.
The suspense is killing some of us..
Ubu's got the message in post #7867 in ****The Rise of the Film Corner****
Aha - never heard of her though !
That Dick Morrissey 'Have You Heard' on 77 Records is pretty rare and goes for big bucks on the original vinyl (no surprise). I only wish that had been amongst the small batch of 77 Records test pressings that I picked up at Mole Jazz for £2 a shot (in my dreams..)
Never heard it and will look out for this CD, even if it is a needle-drop.
All very good publicity for his business, by the look of it.
Ninja Shadow
Video 2 is entertaining. Lots of prancing around with fellow 'practitioners' in the woods near Stourhead and stealth raids on the roofs of local chicken factories !
Time to quit jazz and take this stuff up.
So did I - haven't seen it for years ! I have several of the later albums on vinyl though, including that 'Live at Mount Fuji'. I agree - they were under-rated at the time. Kenny Garrett stood out in the early lineup.
First time I came across them was when the rejuvinated Blue Note was getting some publicity and those French Pathe Marconi reissues came out (1983-85). Stanley Jordan and Bennie Wallace got a lot of profile back then too.
Thanks Clunky & Clifford - looks like these will have to be added to the list !
Same thing applies I guess with the Japanese Sawano Tempos. These have been fabulous - not to be missed whilst they are 'around'.
I've just downloaded pretty well the whole lot of these onto the I-Pod to listen to in the car on the way to work. Currently listening to the Graham Collier and will follow up with the Jon Hiseman and Harry Beckett. Missed most of these when they came out but enjoyed board member Tom Perchard's Lee Morgan feature when it was broadcast. Some good selections on there.
Says 'indefinitely' - I wonder if they mean it (ie. will it be there longer than Sellafield nuclear waste?)
