  3. Definitely looks like Curtis Amy. Curtis Amy definitely played on some of those Doors sessions. There's a previous thread confirming this.
  4. Miles Davis 'Miles Smiles' (German CBS, stereo). Unusual front cover - white sleeve, red text. Classy !
  5. Bobby Hackett Jim Hacker Sir Humphrey Appleby
  6. Miles Davis 'Sorcerer' (UK CBS orange label, stereo). Again, beautiful sound.

  10. I never saw that Carl Wilson album before. I was thinking Horst Jankowski ! Now spinning: 'Miles Davis' Greatest Hits' (Columbia 2-eye, stereo). Picked up today for £3 and trounces my 70s UK pressing. Followed by Miles Davis 'Quiet Nights' (Dutch CBS, mono). Strange and exotic issue with 60s heavy vinyl orange label and what looks like a sort of facsimile sleeve, printed front and back creased over with no joins top and bottom. Bizarre ! Maybe they ran out during the initial print run? (updated to say that the sound quality of this Dutch mono issue is superb. Definitely the best I've heard for this title).
  11. Sorry to hear that. Everyone who loves Blue Note owes her a big thanks. RIP.

  17. Same Province but North of Cowtown. I've heard about 'Opus 69' but think it was long-closed by the time I got there. A&B Sound were the main outlet during my days out West, in both Edmonton and Calgary. They were big in Vancouver too but I believe are also now gone. Most of my Conns were from A&B Sound.

  19. That's interesting - listening today to the LP my impression was that the sound was somewhat flat and 'one-dimensional'. Not untypical of Atlantics - but if anything even more so than usual.
  20. Oh yes..... I think one of those swines still adorns my 'Clark Terry In Orbit'.
  21. Best wishes to you and No. 1 cat with your new home !

  23. I read somewhere that he picked up the 'Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra'. Not sure if it was Vol 1, Vol 2, both and if it was the ESP or domestic Fontana imprint. Must have been bought at Dobells or Colletts I guess.
