  2. Closer than you might think! Flamin' heck ! It wasn't a serious guess. Looks like he's playing Swanage in a few weeks time. No doubt with Mr Barnes ! OK - Who's this..

  9. Yeah, those were the days when LP back covers had things like Carlo Kramer's phone no. on the back ('MUSeum 1810') and you could actually get through to the man himself (in the basement of the British Museum presumably, next to the mummy's tombs) direct via your antique hand-crank phone set and complain about Eric Dolphy's intonation.

  20. Congrats to that fine singer, Claire Martin for the just-anounced award of the OBE for 'services to music'. Always nice to see one of these awards go to a worthy, especially a jazz worthy - and not the usual paper pushing establishment figure.. ('Sir' Mervyn King take a bow) OBE List
  21. Hope Mr Konitz is OK ! Best wishes for a quick recovery.
  22. Yeah, I watched that too (with sign language at about 4am ). I don't think many in the rest of the band were too impressed when he went off with McLaughlin and became Devadip ! I've recorded this (non sign language version) and also the live 1976 concert plus the 'Guitar Heroes at the BBC Vol 5' so some good viewing there for when the rain clouds come in.
  23. 4128 was pretty good too - Freddie Roach 'Mo Greens Please'.
