Just been listening to the 'Thesaurus' LP. Definitely worth getting hold of. Miles Behind has super solos by Warne and a Gillespie-ish Conte Candoli. Great chart !

Still got LPs with their sale stickers in situ - especially HMV, who had the big "£3.99" stickers which could be tricky to remove from Pathe Marconi Blue Notes. Usually I've removed them (apart from the ones with plastic bag outers where I've left the price on e.g. Mole Jazz 'Collector's Item') but on CDs I've often left them in situ. Mole Jazz, Ray's, Tower Records, Fopp, Duck Son & Pinker/Milsom, Sam The Record Man, A&B Sound - all my old haunts are represented.

Ingrid Jensen at the Rex Hotel looks worth checking out. Nice to see that John T. Davis is still in action on the B-3.

Also recommend a trip out West - the usual spots: Salisbury, Bath, Oxford, the Dorset and Devon Coasts and maybe spectacular Cornwall, if time allows. I will be in London in Aug for one night of the track finals (200m & 800m mens) as the ticket lottery went totally t*ts up and actually gave me some tickets. I'm looking forward to the spectacle but anticipate a nightmare getting in and out of London. For the rest of the Games, the TV is the best bet. The sailing down in Portland might be worth checking out - all of the viewing tickets are sold I believe (at least the ones offered to the UK public) but I'm sure there will be some free places along the coast where you can check it out. Bring lots of dosh - UK not cheap, unfortunately. Good luck with the plans !

I agree with Bill - June often turns out pretty good, weatherwise - as it did this year. Today was pretty nice down here - classic English Summer's day. Next Summer is also the Olympics 2012 of course so London and other key event venues are going to be manic.

That's the only Patton vinyl I'm missing - and going by the comments here it will probably stay that way (unless I luck out with a fluke find - zippo chance). Looks like the most reliable listening option on that session would be the Mosaic Select.

As with the 'Bitches Brew' set it's a great package and a fitting tribute to this session. Miles-o-philiacs with turntables are going to want it but I don't think that $70 is that outstanding a deal. I picked it up for £35 in a HMV high street sale a few years ago.
