  1. Up for air.. Last week now for any late contributors before I post the answers.
  2. Up for air.. Last week now for any late contributors before I post the answers (and put Big Al out of his agony - oh hang on, he's seen them )
  3. Prince Lasha night - RIP: 'Insight' (UK CBS, mono) 'Firebirds Live at Berkeley Vol 2' (Birdseye) 'Firebirds' (Contemporary, stereo)
  4. That's correct - I believe it's a Fresh Sound pressing from the 1980s. Sounds pretty good too ! (Paid about £3 for it)
  5. Roland Hanna 'Rolandscape' (Japanese Progressive)
  6. Sorry I can't help with a list of 625s (indeed I would also be interested in one) but maybe we should petition the BBC to re-show the whole series (or what's left of it, after all the tape wiping to make space for Blankety-Blank etc.) I have a wet dream where BBC4 airs the entire series.
  7. Oh Damn - yet more really sad news. Always really enjoyed his work, both the Prince Lasha only albums and the ones with Sonny Simmons. I was hoping we'd hear a bit more about his sojourn in UK via Clifford but I guess it was not meant to be. Tonight therefore I'll dig out 'Insight' on UK CBS, the Vol 2 of his 'Firebirds Live' LPs for Birdseye and also the 'Firebirds' LP for Contemporary. What a shame - RIP Prince Lasha.
  8. What the hell is 'VG++/+'? What's the betting on this one - $5k?
  9. Ralph Peterson Oscar Peterson Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer
  10. Looks pretty severe in Rome. Not to mention all of that water-skiing in Venice recently. SW of England was also hit badly with flash floods overnight. Quite a few roads cut off in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset. Glad I live on an incline !
  11. That's the one - it's on LP (4LPs I think). Will be digging it out a bit later.
  12. Frontal lobotomies all round !
  13. Original deep groove, John? Damn - sounds like I hit these stores 10-15 years too late :rsmile:
  14. Check out the Mole Jazz thread. One of the magazine adverts has this one on sale for about £2-3 ! Those were the days..
  15. Big John Patton 'Oh Baby !' (BN NY USA stereo, ear)
  16. Just picked up a copy - and wrapped it up for Xmas ! Looks fabulous. It was £9.99 here from a bookshop and the US price on the back is $19.95. Nice to see the old exchange rates linger on here at least.. Worth every penny - lots of great photos (in fine colour reproduction), immaculately presented, well bound.
  17. Can't remember exactly when it was but what was left of Asmans did 'decamp' to Mole when the main store closed down. Don't think it lasted too long though.
  18. Tina Brooks 'True Blue' (Music Matters 2x45 rpm) - A bit of morning exercise ! Anyone heard the new 'Tom Cat' yet?
  19. Happy Birthday to McCoy - always a great pleasure to see him in concert.
  20. bullshite2000 might be a better handle.. Overpriced Blue Note LPs = 21st Century Tulip Bulbs
  21. If it's on Pablo Live, I've never seen a Pablo Live LP that wasn't on red vinyl. Pablo and Pablo Today seem all to have used the standard black vinyl. My Coltrane European Tour 2LP set is on the black stuff. As are JJ Johnson 'Yokohama Concert' and the Milt Jackson 'Kosei Negin'. The red vinyl seems to have been fairly common around 1980 (e.g Hubbard at North Sea).
  22. I remember the Chris Wellard store closing - they had a big sale I seem to recall (1980-ish). Never went into the store though.
  23. That's correct. Upstairs at Mole was the Asman's store for a while in the late 1990s. I think the deck/amp/speakers were part of all that as most of the music I heard through that system was pre-1940 !
  24. Sweet Dandelion 180g reissue, mono
